Impressive considering that the Chinese military previous used what was considered the worst rations ever issued by a modern military

You know your business! But it struck me that a meal of that food volume with two extra large entrees might be the military equivalent of a 24 hour HDR. Is there anything to indicate that it is? We COULD have good food such as this but I’m not sure many soldiers have an appreciation for it.

This is definitely better than the 2006 PLA MRE. I suspect that those rations had a chlorophyll and water contamination where the food turns green and starts to break down while it's still packaged. As time goes on, it starts taking in toxic like leafy taste, where it turns extremely bitter and not fit for consumption. This ration might be extremely hot, extremely fast to get rid of this potential problem by quickly heating and boil away any toxic contaminants.

Baked energy bar flavor profile is as stated, light vanilla. Imo, very close flavor to that of a fortune cookie.

This you tuber doesn't know just how fake Chinese Food from China is. China to make more money will add plastic rice to the rice in a meal. the meat how much if fake meat? China Military has disappeared Officers that procured that meal. Chinese does a very good job of faking meal and food, you cannot taste the different. hope that meal goes down well. Remember 90% of Chinese Ground Water is unfit for human consumption, and that water is used for crops.

The US and UK could learn a thing or two from these new Chinese rations, the heaters are excellent

The dark, undissolved powders in the drink are probably something in the tablet being oxidized. It's very common to see that stuff if you bought multivitamin tablets and left them too long. It is not necessarily something bad, just an indication of something being oxidized.

I watch a lot of MRE videos and Chinese used to have the WORST MREs. Boy they have come a long way. If their MRE’s are any indication for the rest of their military hardware…we’re in trouble.

I don't know why the United States cannot work with a manufacturer who can make a dependable flameless ration heater that works as well as the ones from other countries. One out of three do nothing, another one is a half ass*d reaction and the other one out of the 3 actually heats your food somewhat ok.
