My oni kid had no problems dealing with shanks as well as akainu tbh. He's just sooooo good. Been playing Roden in the past(occasionally switch roger to candy man for some fun). But right now I'm using akainu and oni kid cus of how the meta shifted

Ulti is really good against shanks. My ulti usually wins a 1v1 against shanks 95 percent of the time. Yes even against level 100 boost 3 shanks. If you play her right she will win everytime.

Japanese server overrates Oden and Global server overrates Roger.

Why Roger isn’t Z tier.

1. He is not versatile enough. He is a pure attacker without any status effect nullification or knockback ability, which are two very basic capabilities.

2. His survivability is terrible. Roger can be one shotted by many BF characters, especially red ones, let alone Extreme characters. Contribution is limited when you’re easily killed. People been promoting “hit and run” Roger playstyle for a reason.

3. He needs to build attack up. Many characters have damage reduction to massive damage so Kamusari can’t one shot people that frequently anymore. With Shanks and Akainu flooding everywhere, Don’t even think of Roger getting lots of attack buffs.

4. He struggles against most used characters.
Akainu: no explanation needed.
Shanks: Roger can definitely one shot Shanks, but Shanks is still gonna win most of the time.
Yamato: can’t stop her from capturing. She’s more agile. Both of her skills could one shot Roger. She has massive damage reduction against Roger.
Z: Enjoy having all of your atk buff disappeared.

Wait for more status effect characters like Uta, Perospero who could bully Roger to death.
