Is anything worth buying at Lululemon? (Men and Women's review)

Heads up about aligns! My friend works at Lululemon and apparently they're trained to tell customers that aligns will eventually pill. This pilling isn't technically covered under their quality promise (holes and seam rips are though)

The swiftly comes in a crop that is way more flattering! It hits in just the right place above the wunder train.

In my opinion, the jackets are the main products that are worth it. For a nice, high quality jacket that will last you a long time, I think the pricing is fairly reasonable. I say fairly only because you have to assume all of their products are marked up because of the name and brand. I have the define jacket in several colors and the half-zip scuba hoodie. I do have two of the align shorts (just because I like to match, and I didnt trust being able to find these specific colors from other brands) and I do not think they are worth the price. They’re comfy, yes, but for $64, the fact that they have no pockets and a front seam is very confusing.

That Luon jacket is sooo cute, it's a shame that the fabric is too thin.

You've highlighted something I've noticed for years - the quality gap between women's wear and men's wear. Even at low-end brands the men's clothes seem to be made with better quality, more durable fibres; better sewing and better finishing details. It's super important to exercise our power as consumers and refuse to buy pieces that are poorly designed, poorly sewn and/or made from poor quality / inappropriate fibres for the purpose.

It's not that the body oils carry odour, it's that the bacteria in your washing machine jumps onto the oil trapped in polyester clothing and only when it starts feeding on them the bacterias poop stinks. Ie people don't smell, the bacteria chomping on the food trapped by synthetic fabrics does. Puts me right off the idea of shops recycling exercise clothing as the source material is contaminated with bacteria!

The bacteria Micrococcus is responsible for growing stink in synthetic fibres like polyester, which it prefers (doesn't grow on cotton or skin) is resistant to silver treatments in studies and it is resistant to all heavy metals as well. The reason why your husband doesn't stink is because Asian's mostly genetically don't produce the same fats and proteins in sweat that feed the bacteria over time that 98% of Europeans do. I have some of those silver treated exercise clothes and can confirm as a European they stink just as much as non silver treated clothes do. Any polyester or synthetic traps the fats and proteins permanently for bacteria food whereas cotton linen fibres relax during washing and release them, leaving no food therefore no stink. If you cold wash, and don't use many rinses, then even cotton can stink because it doesn't wash completely clean out the proteins and fats. This is why I hate synthetics so much. I worked in a 2nd hand store and they always stink because the fibres can NOT be washed clean. Got that from clicking the link in the study you referenced and went down a rabbit hole for a few hours.

I love Lulu basics I have long sleeves, short sleeves shirts exclusively from lulu because they last so long and the neckline never change, And I can hem them any length for free.

I have both jacket from Lulu and Uniglo. I have to say the Lulu one stays the same after wash, but the Uniqlo thread on the sleeve got broken and I put them in washing bags.

Luluemon use to have leggings without the center crotch seam. I don't know why they discontinued them.

The flare leggings uniqlo makes never pills, I wash cold and hang dry and have been wearing them for 1 year ish and they are so goood! Love uniqlo for basic dupes!!

I got a pair of yoga pants from there a decade ago and they tore at a seam a couple minutes after I walked out of the store 😐 it was an emergency holiday clothing purchase and we didn’t have time to go back but I was mad as hell since they’d cost SO much. I still wore them hole and all for years because of that but they wore down at the thigh seams so fast.

Align is the best leggings I sized up and gained 30lbs during pregnancy, I could wear them the whole time except the last month!! Better than actual maternity leggings or pants

I have Lulu clothing that I have gently washed for years and they are FAR BETTER quality than the clothing that they are producing today. Patagonia is still better for quality in my opinion.

I still love a scuba but I pair it with my Uniqlo leggings which are pretty comparable to my Lulu ones, buttery soft for a lot less.

I was a ride or die so lululemon.. but their quality has gone down hill.. I bought a pair of leggings cuz it was time.. not even 3 months later and I got a whole on the butt and I didn’t sit anywhere where it would tug.. I pay attention to that stuff so I’m careful.. the align top and leggings pill much faster too.. it’s just annoying. I’m looking for new leggings because I’m not spending 100 bucks for shitty quality leggings that last me 3 months. Thanks for the honesty!!

What’s rh difference between the lulu polyester and the cheap shein polyester. I know that cheap shine clothes will get all staticky and get hair stuck on them after one wash, so what’s the main difference?
