I can appreciate some of the writing and performances in Andor, but it's the Star Wars Universe made ordinary, like Lord of the Rings centred on Aragorn's tax policy.

Truly love this Podcast and the people on it are the best, but some absolutely horrendous takes about health and fitness fellas. Saying its all about metabolism and "body type" is ridiculous. As you get older, you settle down, move and exercise much less, and eat more. For many, a shitty diet and lack of exercise catches up to them. It's not about da metabolism or da genetics. It's about exercising regularly and eating properly and less shit. Amazing how middle aged people who exercise and eat well all seem to have miraculously avoided the bad genetics and diabolically slow metabolism phenomenon. Fwiw I was a fat arse at 20 and had a six-pack at 40. Still have at 46. Could be my metabolism or most likely the fact I no longer drink 3 nights a week or binge on nachos every day 🙃. But would totally agree that you should work on your full self. Nothing more boring than someone who lives to count calories and will never have any fun in life.

That episode 3 in the last of us was the biggest load of BS. It was a waste of an episode. All the story lines remained accurate to the game for the most part even though none of the characters were really themselves in the show, but the 1 they strayed so far from was the gay love story that was not meant to be some Bull shit gay eden. The story was destroyed so film snobs could say wow what a great contained story. The story was whip lash award baiting nonesense. Its fine to have a T rex in a dino movie but it doesnt belong in episode 3 of a 6 ep season of game of thrones and that how i feel about the last of us ep 3. fine to have gay award baiting bs, but in season 1 where no characters have been built to the level they deserve you go waste 40 minutes giving us a mockery of the initial story and on top of that a real purposeless back story for some dead queers.

I can hazard a guess at Andor's problem. The average smooth brain consumer of slop finds it slow and boring, so isn't interested. Most everyone else who is more discriminating, has simply lost all interest in Star Wars anyway because it's irrevocably mired in an ocean of shit, not only as part of a sabotaged franchise, but by being stuck on Disney+ as a whole.

Echo has an important point, Star Wars is space fantasy, it has a mix of high technology but also is about an order of knights fighting with swords. It shouldn't be too familiar or too modern. The same thing happens with a lot of fantasy today.
