Neoliberals leads to facist take over. It's like people who gave Vaush crap over this claim are now panicking after Kamala got steamrolled. Either people acknowledge rhetoric like Bernie or else we'll lose constantly.

I voted for Bernie in the primary of 2016 and was and have been disgusted that he is not respected within the Dem party.

Bernie Sanders had some flawed security measures at his rallies : Birds flew onto the stage , drones passed over , A fly landed on a pence , Somebody had a heart attack , a annoying tinninitus frequency was heard near federal agents , sabateurs disrupted the media and a nude lady stole the stage at some point during his campaign .

If Trump ignored any of these disruptions during his campaign, he would be suspected of treason .

Also both candidates have a unhealthy fascination with Russian puppetry .

A newcomer to Houston got caught up in the traffic of the annual trail ride, a major event leading up to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. This lady was PISSED about the nerve of mounted riders and horse-drawn wagons driving on city streets. She kept on and on about what a cow town we were, and she just couldn't believe it. Google Houston, and the first thing you see is articles about the HLS&R and the trail ride. Apparently, this woman moved here without even bothering to Google us.

I strongly disagree with the whole trans women in sports or private spaces (w/o surgery) stance. It's not scientific, hugely unpopular, and it makes liberals look weak and crazy. People say they need to continue fighting for it 🫢 but liberals DID fight for it. They LOST.

He’s my senator and even though he’s rhetorically good he’ll never be a true progressive since he’s from a state that’s the health insurance capitol of the world and fully in their pockets.

Vaush kinda missed the Connecticut politics in this post. CT has an insane amount of wealthy educated NYC businesspeople who live in the western half of the state, and they tend to control all of our politics.

This post, to me, reads as a serious indictment of their brand of neoliberal privilege which currently controls most of the state (our governor is basically a Republican, and our other senator is a classic liberal dem who’s had his seat for a thousand years). It’s actually really outspoken and based of him to say this

Fundamentally, this is about centrism. Political centrism and status quo politics has failed, and now the Dems either have to become a left wing party or a second right wing party. Only one of those has a future, and it's not meekly following behind another political group, doing everything they do, and then quietly saying "but I'm not them, though" as your entire WRETCHED identity.

It might end up being what we get, though. We're not that far off from that already being the case.

You don't have to give up on cultural justice if your average person believes you're trying to help them economically. You think most union members who reliably voted Democratic back on the day cared about Civil Rights? They didn't.. they went along with it because of perceived self interest. Win/Win.
