How to Trim Out an Island | Island Makeover

Just curious, in this case why wouldn't you span the trim across the top and then cut the center piece to fit between the baseboard and top?

You said you ripped the vertical corner pieces with a miter saw at a 46° angle. How do you rip that on a miter saw?

I like kitchen islands like this without the seating overhang.
