If he can make gold in a microwave then why is he selling DVDs at $20... could his electricity bill be that high! and why is it when you put a plate in a microwave with some gold or metal lamination it fries?

@unison1978 1:48 this guy has smart ass questions. funny though DVD $20? take advantage of it !!! it has alot of info. critizing without experimenting is pointless. buy a generator for the microwaves if you are worried about your electric bill, or use 700w microwaves $20 for the DVD to me is a bargain. the equipement may vary. if you have the time and money to do this experiment then do it.

You do have to have a gold concentrate (like from a sluice) but then you use borax and quartz sand, and sometimes a flux like KNO3. You mix it all with the gold, and melt ... in a microwave if you got nothing else. That's how you get the button. The borax and sand form glass which rejects the gold in a button at the bottom.

Perhaps his friend just used the glass beer bottles instead to concentrate the gold and the old man got confused and thought the gold actually came from the bottles. Ultimately there is much to be learned here for a DIY gold miner, but it would have help if everyone shut up and listened to the guy ... and if someone asked him some intelligent questions.

@jl317 I found this vid while looking for info on using quartz sand to recover single atom precious metal particles. I'm working on a process to recover gold from electronic scrap that does not use mercury, cyanide, or nitric acid. I don't care about refining it, just recovery. If anyone has any info on the process of concentration of the gold, please reply. That guy alluded to it, in terms of how many times he heated the glass bottles, and how the colors change, but I need details ;-)

I have not yet done this successfully myself, but I've seen another demonstration of it. I believe you need Aluminum Silicate insulation ... it is very low density stuff. I've been having problems finding a supplier for that where I can get small quantities of 2" thick sheets. Let me know if you find it somewhere. Also, you need a flux in with your metal to absorb the microwaves. Magnetite and borax I believe are the main ingredients to the flux.

Apparently we can grow far more platinum than gold using a modified process. John didn't know this but the fly ash content in glass and the fly ash insulation layer both contain quazi-crystals of ferrite+quartz which use a zero point energy trick to break down into gold and platinum. Without this seed material, nobody is growing gold. Maybe using sea salt, but that stuff destroys your duraboard insulation and the microwave. We're improving the process and I expect to have serious production in less than 2 weeks once I get the mix right. I may have found a new formula which puts others to shame by addition of a trigger element to boost plasma at the magic temperature which is not the 2025F used by John in brown glass anymore.
