EXCELLENT,!!!!!

I really loved this story. I've read 3 all out of sequence 😆 but this has me mad, sad and frustrated at Simons antics around Susanna. Its true to say that some folk just don't see what's under their nose. Poor Mina was a trooper for putting up with the abuse from everyone but I was glad when she decided she'd had enough .

What a powerful story! Thank you for this tortured love story. It overcomes such difficulties but ends with such love. I really enjoyed the moments with the horses and the children, as well.

It is a slow-moving romantic tale about a superb, unmarried woman with hopes and dreams. She's not fashionable bc she's plump and not traditionally pretty. She realizes she's been on the shelf too long and much prefers to marry a respectable man - without love - than stay a spinster.

Simon proposes, accepting he doesn't love her, but very much respecting and enjoying her.

They actually have a good life except for that pesky sex thing. Which doesn't happen. Simon has much to figure out poor guy (he's in lust with a woman). It ends well, but I sure would have enjoyed a little lovemaking at thend AND an epilogue.

More than the plot, I enjoyed the language in which this novel is written. It is beautiful and the narration is enjoyable. No bad language! How refreshing and uplifting.
