First off, this was my first dragon age game. And honestly? I absolutly loved it. I did everything I possibly could. 100 percented the game, and had an absolute blast playing it. It kinda felt like a fantasy version of mass effect. I am baffled by "bad writing". I loved the stories and each characters side stories. I will replay the game at some point and make a different choice at a pivotal point just to see how it changes.

Can't think of ANY developer that survived flop after flop? EA is a master at that. They've been making the exact same horrible Madden games.

I decided to download and play Veilguard since it was on PS+, and i barely got through the first mission. It was boring, and the combat was meh. I literally kept falling asleep and had to turn it off. I came back a few days later to finish the mission, and then i immediately deleted it.

What really happened is that 90% of people can't stand to have the gay agenda rammed down their throat, and remaining people who DO want gay shit down their throat don't even play video games. To paraphrase: the relevant audience for video games are TOTALLY put off by an agenda that has nothing to do with them. Hope this helps.

Bottom line: the script was bad. I’m not referring to the references towards lgbtq. It’s fine to have those. But previous entries took a mature approach towards sex and sexual identity. Veilguard had a horrible story and lines that sounded like something you’d hear on a shitty broadcast tv series. Like it was writte by a fan fic author or ai.

The fantastic games we’ve had since bg3 all started with the most important of foundations - a rock solid, mature and smart script.

If you truly want good games to continue to come out you should root for all the bad ones to fail, no matter what franchise it's from or what studio releases it. Every bad game succeeding is a tragedy since it only means other game studios won't try as hard. If you are a fan of RPGs you should be rejoicing for vailguard failing, since if it were to succeed then all other RPGs would be worse for it, and biowere wouldn't even consider improving their standard for their next game.

A 30+ minute video to say what happened with DA: The Veilguard??? It was a pandering mess with poor writing and a disregard for DA lore. This ConTeNt CreAtOr loves to hear himself talk.

well I had only played Inquisition before this one and I really loved it, had tons of fun so I still don't know what's the deal with this game. The writing is bad? Why? What's bad about it? If you state something is bad you need to say why. Bad and not liking it are not the same thing. Really fucking stupid

1. No more open world.
2. No more tactical combat option
3. LGBTQ...
4: No more passion from developer
5. No more dark world feeling, only fucking Rainbows, Unicorn and safe sex.

Developer fucked up so badly it shouldn't even be possible..... even when people told them not to go down this route, they still went for it.

Wow, crazy that people care more about a good story and interesting characters than just a good looking game. These developers are just as much out of touch with their audience as these TV and movie producers.

Plainly, I don't want to play a game that lectures me. And I'm a gay dude, so you'd think I'd be this game's target audience, but guess what: there's a lot more to my personality than the people I'm attracted to.

I really was excited about Veilguard. I loved Inquisition so I was really looking forward to the story continuing. I was so let down with how terrible the story actually was, the dialog constantly felt like HR was in the room, and it wasn’t dark or gritty at all which had been synonymous with DA. Plus it was very disappointing how pretty much none of the “choices” mattered and I couldn’t decide which team mates I wanted to stick with. The game demanded I interact with all of them in order to progress in the game and that was extremely annoying.

The main thing that new bioware needs to stop doing is restricting every game dragon age and mass effect is restricting us to 3 moves

So, I played the game...a lot. I feel I can speak on it. It felt like a fan-fic Dragon Age game. I know the development was rough, but the story beats were more about pander than story building. The new factions rang kinda hollow for me, the companions were ultimately forgettable, save a couple. I also find issue that, at least at launch, you could only have a max of 3 play throughs at a time, you would need to delete previous games to do any further playthroughs. I'm unsure of the mindset they approached this title with, but it was the wrong one.

You can get away with bad writing in an action game, because that's not the focus. You can't get away with it in an RPG.

I have no idea who Jason Schreier even is, but I do know from what he wrote that he has absolutely so idea why Veilguard became the Failguard. The game was nothing the fans wanted or expected. The writing, and preaching at the player, was the worst part, and total irrelevance of player choice a close second. The mess that resulted had more in common with Dustborn than Dragon Age.

Here's the thing. How many times can gamers hope? How many times can they get screwed and then hope anyways? It's gamer's fault. Stop buying the shit. Honestly CD project red doesn't deserve your money either. Just because they make their shit better after they fuck you over doesn't mean that they should get your cash. All you've done there is show them that they can release a busted product and then fix it later on and nobody will give a shit. Do gamers at any point think things through? Or do you just want to buy something that you already know is trash get online talk trash about it after you've already gave it an affirmative vote by paying for it. And then by the next thing that they make? Just stop man. If somebody makes a trash game don't buy the next one. It's that simple that's how they'll learn. Will these companies go out of business? Potentially but you know what the next company that comes along won't release garbage will they?

This is just the people who Bioware replaced its developers with over the years. The people being pumped out by the industry now. All these games seem to have a similar look and feel down to dialog and purple color used on the cover. Forespoken, Concord, Life is Strange, Avowed, Dustborn they all start to look eerily similar like they were all worked on by the same group of roommates in college (none of whom use normal pronouns). Either intentionally or unintentionally it's become a look or a writing style gamers are beginning to pick out.
