Let's not pretend, that this woke culture at Disney started only five years ago. They just became bolder five years ago.

There has been a slow push toward being woke ever since 2008 (and arguably even earlier than that), after Disney's corporate structure changed after the Great Recession. They got bolder five years ago, because they were so successful, that they thought they could get away with doing whatever they actually wanted to do.

So this is going to take much longer than several years to fix.

IF you want to put out a movie for the mainstream that is EXLCUSIVELY about the "MESSAGING" then feel free to do so, Disney... Having said that, leave IPs such as Star Wars, Marvel, etc out of it though, as the story-writing that has been used in those properties have been exclusively "about the message" and lacks any coherent story writing, character development (Luke Skywalker, need I say more?) and in the process it has taken NEW character who MIGHT have been a fan favorite and made them into something of a joke (here's looking at you Finn, you deserved so much better as a character). As a long-time fan of Star Wars, I will say that I would've rather seen Rey AND Finn get a dramatic and awesome story arc, perhaps with BOTH of them finding that they are Force-sensitive and thus they would have had to work together to make the Jedi into something new rather than the story we got (i.e. Rey as a stand-in for Kathleen Kennedy's ego)...

To be a blockbuster movie, moviegoers need to see the product, multiple times. Movies made for
" modern audience's " dont appeal to that type of fan. The moder audience seems to be a 1 & done, as to seeing the product. For example, when the 1st Star Wars movie came out, in '77/78 eople went to see it 10, 20 or more times. Same with the Indiana Jones original movies, etc.
Also, not every movie needs to be a " blockbuster ". The formula that worked for decades, was release several movies, normal entertainment, and maybe 1 blockbuster per year. Now it seems that every movie tries to be a home run, which isnt realistic. Add in pushing a message, poor writing ,& inane actors fan baiting or being dense as regards to the material.

i’m a black man, 30 years old i’m used to not having a lot of representation I just don’t want to be pandered to or when you finally put a black guy in your movie he’s a thug or loser just make him regular or a hero but don’t make him flawless and don’t make him a stereotype. I played video games my whole life i’ve identified with white protagonist every video game protagonist is a white guy with black hair lol that’s cool but if you make a character cheesy or don’t limit me to 3 black hairstyles and body configurations YOU think are realistic. protagonist should be hot make it female and truly virtuous not morally grey.

Audiences have no problem with diverse casts and films, as long as it doesn't feel forced and contrived.

Another factor to take into account is there’s more people everyday, so if they steadily advertise they always gather more viewers than yesterday; it’s not about making a good movie, it’s more about making a percentage of the audience think they saw the correct version to relate to. 😮warping the majority to appreciate duller versions of the original version so they can dilute our own perception of what things are actually like then feed us their ideals.

They are supposed to sell it to people all around the world and the diversity we have in the West does not exist in the rest of the world (The West is about 10% of the world)and identity politics also exist in the West.

I don't entirely believe this cuz they failed with Star Wars twice and hear me out, they got the message, we know they got the message cuz IX is pretty bad but you can see how much they were trying to course correct...then they got Mandalorian that made a lot of things right but as soon as they felt the safety net that was Grogo THEY WENT EXACTLY TO THE SAME KIND OF STUFF that was problematic to begin with. So they knew there, they actually course corrected but the moment they felt safe they went back straight to it. And that makes me doubt any change would be enough.
