State of the Ooni-Alafin Controversy: Logical Reasoning vs. Unintelligible Blather.

From the various arguments put forward by the various parties, it is clear that:

1) the inhabitants of Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, and Osun states are Ootu (or Yoba);
2) all recognize their origins in Ife;
3) each state has one or more paramount kings;
4) all recognize Ooni, the chief king of Ife, as the first king of all the Ootu (or Yoruba); he is their founding father;
5) Oyo State (and particularly Oyo City), which claims exclusive ownership of the Yoruba ethnic group (and perhaps also the Ootu identity), without denying its origin in Ife, is challenging Ooni's primacy by invoking supremacist arguments that will only isolate Oyo from others and, above all, weaken the entire group.

It is time to put an end to this absurd and ridiculous intra-Yoruba supremacist polemic and focus on the sole concept of categorization based on the origin of the Ootu or Yobas, which instead allows for a classification based on primacy. Such a more intelligent approach will allow us to conserve our energy and remain united and focused to face the real challenges and battles that must be fought for our self-determination as a Yoba or Ootu nation (we should call ourselves that from now on!) and the development of our people.

This guy shouldn't have come up with this. There are several things that this guy does not know: in the old Oyo empire, Alaafin reign supreme in the entire Yorubaland. Ooni gained prominence in the late 50s when Oba Adesoji Aderemi was made the governor general of western region. It will therefore be impossible for any Alaafin to see himself as a subject of Ooni. Both of them should see themselves as equals. Expecting Alaafin to be subject to Ooni is unrealistic
