would there be any kind of issue with the low octane fuel that is used in the united states?
ОтветитьThat will turn a few heads in the states. Lovely job.
ОтветитьGreat sounding engine! :)
ОтветитьLove these episodes but the turbine smooth creamy Rover is part of my childhood
Ответитьyes yes!!
ОтветитьI the mid 70’s there was a guy who was a regular at our Milwaukee WI autocross meets who had shoehorned an Oldsmobile 215 V8 into an Opel 1800 sedan. The only one faster than him was the guy with the Ford Pantera. 😄
ОтветитьGood catch noticing the lifters wernt rotating, out of curiosity how did you catch/notice that in the first place?
ОтветитьSo the restrictive intake upstream of the carbs, has the effect of enrichening the mixture, which results in more power? That's interesting. To the eye, it looks big enough and curvy enough to not be much of a factor. Where exactly is the restriction point?
ОтветитьMy god get rig of that intake and carb setup, get an American aluminum intake manifold and a 4 barrel carb and let it breath.
ОтветитьGreat engine, but superb technical content and some of the best narrative I have heard, well done.
ОтветитьSorry for the late comment, but only just found your site! Great to see real world stuff not only explained clearly but with a lot of experience thrown in.
I see from your runs that the oil pressure was showing 45psi @ 1600 rpm. As its an SD1 engine which has a larger flow oil pump than the original P6, should not the pressure be reduced to the 10 psi per 1000rpm to reduce dizzy drive gear wear, or is this a myth and the SD1 engine can take higher pressure than the 30psi stated in so many manuals?
.
great information
