Another fantastic video. Thank you Henry, for what you do and how you do it. Always a very enjoyable adventure with you and there's always a good tip or two that's explained so that even I understand it. This video in particular is a source of motivation and inspiration and I appreciate ya'. Thanks again and looking forward to what's in store.
ОтветитьI have my d3300, and d7100, love both cameras, I use my d3300 as my everyday camera, I take it everywhere, my d7100 is one of my cameras for astrophotography, with my canon 6d ( that was an affordable full frame for me) thanks for your hard work and honesty, your honest and open nature is my main reason for watching, but I do like the adventure blogs
ОтветитьPs love image 1
ОтветитьLove the Llyn Peninsula Henry, image 2 for me and I’m happy with my full frame but relatively light weight Canon RP
ОтветитьNice location I do my Milky way photography on Llyn its the darkest spot outside of Scotland in the UK. (I'm in Manchester) Bardsey Island lighthouse is a nice shot.
ОтветитьGreat work Henry. Pic#2 for me.
ОтветитьGreat video Henry and I prefer image 2. I’m a beginner photographer and have a Nikon z6ii and really find your videos helpful and enjoy your passion for landscape photography!
ОтветитьI love my Nikon Z50. Very similar to the Z30, however it does have a electronic viewfinder. Still considered a entry level but has (almost) all the features of the big boys. Lightweight for hiking and travel just like the Z30.
ОтветитьI'm totally with you on this one Henry. Back to basics really does ground you and make you feel better about your photography. I've spent thousands on Canon gear and yet I get more pleasure from an old 35mm film camera or my medium format film camera. Pic #1 by the way. I prefer the house being off to one side.
ОтветитьAnother great video and I love the way you do not promote the newest products. I am very much an entry level amateur and have got some great photos when compared to others with top range equipment (imho). Just returned from south coast of Ireland - fantastic scenery would love to see you do videos from there 👍👍.
ОтветитьBeen a Pentaxian for decades. Im use to not having all the bells and whistles of the best cameras. My nifty fifty makes fantastic images on my APS-C DSLR, as do my"better"=10x the cost lenses. Some of my best images were taken my least costly gear.
ОтветитьHi Henri, I think you are absolutely right. I use the Nikon Z50, same as the Z30 only the Z50 dóés have a viewfinder (as you know).
The Z50 with both standard lenses, The: 16-50 and the 50-250 is a wonderful compact and lightweight photography-set.
It’s not perfect, but you can easily print up to 60x90 cm.
My Z5 fulframe camera with the Z24-70 f/4.0 and the AF 70-200mm f/4.0 (with FTZ) I use for the more “slow” photography.
They make a very nice couple, because only the size is different, but the handling is the same and the quality of my Z5 is only just a bit beter.
Depth-of-field is beter on the DX than on the fullframe, só I need to use a smaller diafragma wich leads to more defraction and I need a higher ISO-value. Só the beter quality of the Z5 is reduced a bit by those two aspects, as you know.
Só my Z50 and Z5 make a fine duo with almost the same image quality. I love both camera’s, and sometimes I bring them both, because of the fog in wich it is dangerous to change lenses.
Kind greetings,
Arthur, landscape photographer from the Netherlands.
I use Nikon Z30 myself, it's the only mirrorless interchangeable lens camera I can afford and it's a fantastic walkabout travel camera
ОтветитьGreat video & message. Personally I use an entry level Canon DSLR. For the longest time I felt I needed to upgrade to a better camera. What changed my mind was a local trip I took with a professional photographer friend of mine. We were taking similar shots throughout the weekend, and a week later we met up to share images. I was hoping to get some constructive criticism from my friend, but once we compared the pictures, he clearly stated that he thought mine were better. Of course my head swelled a bit, but it made me realize what so many have said before, it is not the camera but the photographer that makes the picture. Really appreciate your channel. Keep up the great work.
ОтветитьI like image 2.
ОтветитьI have a Nikon d5100 and the z30. Is the z7 a higher quality than the z30?
ОтветитьMy question would be video quality. I have a ton of old f glass, that I would get a z to f converter for. I shoot mostly video these days, but they cost to switch to Sony would run my $1000's for an A6700 and three lenses I would use the most. I am fine with aspc format as I use my phone, GoPro, d3100, Sony zv1.
ОтветитьUhm…Z50🤷♂️ with a viewfinder
ОтветитьI have actually been looking for a smaller compact companion for my full frame cameras which I use a lot for landscape photography on the Atlantic coast. I have been considering this one for many of the same reasons you mention. Only the lack of a view finder has held me back. I may actually try this one and I have the same zoom lens as well.
Ответитьi like the 2nd one of the cottage
ОтветитьVery curious for your first impression of the OM-5. Been missing my lightweight set up and considering going back from my nikon z6.
ОтветитьLove your review, i still shoot with an old d300. The last couple years i have only used my phone as its so compact, always with me and these days phones are quite capable of shooting god images especilly with 3rd party apps, i got tired of carting all my gear around especially when travelling. Recently thought of upgrading and getting back into it maybe with a fujifilm as their cameras are quite small and compact then i began looking at Nikon as always been a Nikon user and had my heart on the ZF but now definately considering this as from a price point is cheap and its compact and probably do what I need it to do. Do you know if it compatible with the F mount lenses using the adaptor?
ОтветитьOne bit of advice. When you are doing a panorama it's important for the focal point of the lens to remain at the same point in space. This prevents parallax.
ОтветитьWhich is better z30 or zve10 ? In photography
Ответитьz30 or z50?
ОтветитьI got a Z 30 and I absolutely love it. It's small enough to put in my jacket pocket, and the photos are incredible. I don't miss the viewfinder at all. In fact I feel like I frame pictures much better looking at the screen.
ОтветитьAlright, you have convinced me. I think I want a Nikon z30. Been using a 1 inch sensor camera for the last year. Some pics came out great, others were very disappointing.
ОтветитьHi,,for street photography (beginner here) , i saw specs, but wich do you recommend for your own experience ? this or lumix gx9? thanks
Ответитьimage 2 for me
ОтветитьThat last part is why I got the z30. I was so caught up in new equipment and getting new stuff to make better content that I would never make content. Just look for the newest gear.
ОтветитьI prefer the second image, better composition, better balance
ОтветитьLinks for the mic
Ответитьwhat button do i press for the clear screen?
ОтветитьYou'd be surprised with what Bob Krist now shoots with for his landscape work and he's been published in National Geographics multiple times. His entire kit is now very light weight Sony bodies all considered entry level and travel.
Use the tools for the right jobs. All of us will go small and light as we age. He used to shoot with the Nikon D3 and by today's standards, the Z30, Z50, and ZFC are all better than the D3/D3s. Those old full frame bodies only win for durability, battery life, and frame rate.
What a beautiful place and great camera.
ОтветитьI am in doubt whether to take the Z30 or the R50, what do you recommend? Did you feel the lack of AVF on the Z30? Thank you
ОтветитьGreat professional video, very well done, thank you. The Z30 is a blast! I have a D5200 and D7000 cameras and the Z5 and Z30. out of the four I use the Z30 the most because 1) its small and light just carry it in my pocket 2) fantastic video and sound 3) decent battery life 4) silent shutter for events 5) the kit DX16-50 is very compact and sharp, great for travel. Since I do mostly indoor events I use exclusively the Z DX 12-28mm power zoom lens for capturing interiors and large groups close up. The power zoom is great for smooth video effects.
I went recently to Japan and was contemplating taking the Z5 with Z24-120 F4 lens, but decided to take just the Z30. I did not regret it. I probably couldn't carry the Z5 for so many hours every day. The 12mm zoom proved priceless inside temples, shrines, crowded train stations etc. Lack of EVF is a serious problem on sunny days
I always face 4k overheat problem on Z30. I am using non-branded cheaper SD card. Is ths the reason?
ОтветитьVery compact. I got z50. Planned to upgrade to z6-3
ОтветитьAmazing video new to the channel
ОтветитьIts all about the perfect balance of weight vs performance of the Z30 that brings a smile when I use it too.
ОтветитьI prefer image 2.
ОтветитьDo you prefer the nikon z30 to the olympus om5 you used recently?
Ответитьgreat video!
Ответитьits really such a shame and i can not wrap my head around why nikon did this... that the z30 has no viewfinder. honestly, if it had one it would be like the perfect camera for me. but it isnt. i hate no viewfinder cameras. when i use one it happens so often to me, that i am outside in bright light and i cant see anything on the screen at all doing blindfire like a point and shoot phone or something...
and sry but it is not because they tried to save space. when something like lumix gm5 that literally fits into the palm of your hand, can fit a viewfinder and if the entire sony a6xxx series can fit a viewfinder... the z30 could too.
would have been an instant buy perfect camera. but nikon decided i should give sony my money instead because they have a VF.
i dont want a z50. i dont want a dslr style body. i want a rangefinder style body like many others too. like lumix gx8 or a6400/6700 a7c and alike. can nikon for the sake of it PLEASE build one? thank you...
Solid review mate! and some stunning shots you got too.
ОтветитьWhich camera and light you used for vlogging this video?
ОтветитьYou vlogged those video with DJI Osmo Pocket or DJI ACTION OSMO 4?
ОтветитьThanks for the excellent review. Am considering the z30 with kit lens, and possibly a few more of the RX Nikkor lenses. I’m 72 and a Nikon shooter (as a few other brands) and primarily shoot with z7ii and after bodies and S lenses; but I’m wanting an everyday setup for weight and portability.
I really think you “sold” me on the z30. The lack of a viewfinder will be a switch, but I’ve had another brand that worked fine. But it just wasn’t a Nikon. I’m so aligned with the system that I know how to get what I want, even with different menu changes and button layout. I bought my first Nikon F2 in 1973 and have used the system since then without any regrets.
Now, how do I purchase it in retirement without selling off some older gear?😂😂
Thanks again.
