Great job . Cheers .
Ответить👍👏👏 nice fix.
ОтветитьIt was probably assembled late on a Friday afternoon. Machining is never boring...oh wait you are boring!! LOL
ОтветитьNice setup and great job on the boring bar, Gary. I noticed you tightening all 3 allens when setting your dia. Criterion heads use the 2 outer screws for the gib adjustment and the center one for locking the slide. Criterion started shipping their heads with dabs of a plastic material in the outer screw key openings so people wouldn't adjust them. The reasoning is set the gib tightness correctly and then you only have to tighten the center screw to lock the slide. That way the slide maintains a constant feel when adjusting and also saves the hassle of having to tighten all 3 screws. Good to see your last 2 new videos. really enjoyed them.
ОтветитьYes, Friday afternoon job !. Nice job you did there. Regards from the UK.
ОтветитьThanks for sharing, great video
ОтветитьI am one of those weirdos that can watch chips be made forever and if I might ever get impatient watching any part of a video I know what FF is for, so I myself say leave the machining in especially if you are doing any voice over about the job or what ever.
ОтветитьI like your quick and simple boring bar solution. Nice clean repair👍🏻
ОтветитьHello Gary....enjoyed, great discussion/demonstration/repair....Wishing you a great holiday season....
Ответитьgreat work
ОтветитьNice repair. Whoever did the job the first time around was worse than no help at all.
Ответитьgreat video!! Great narration. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed it, and Learned
ОтветитьNice job Gary. I have worked on many pumps small to large. Always a challenge. You needed one of those facing boring heads. LOL about the live stream. Thanks.
ОтветитьNice repair. I don't know how that pump made it out of the factory. I like the pace of your voice over video's. I am always interested in seeing a how well the machining goes on a interesting set up. If someone has alot of material to hog out that can get boring.
ОтветитьBooster Chairs to the rescue! Very nice DIY boring bar, thanks for sharing this Gary and excellent repair work on the pump!
ОтветитьA little bit of machining is good to show exactly what the setup was for. To me showing the setup is the most important, I’m not that experienced at doing setups and I learn every time I see one!
ОтветитьIts never boring to se a nice boring setup, a good old handmade thumbs up.
ОтветитьOut of curiosity - why didn't the customer just buy another pump? NLA? Time constraint? Seems like your time would make that an expensive fix!
ОтветитьWhat “”DK” said
Ответитьon new impeller it has 2 tapped holes are those holes for manufacturing of impeller or impeller pulling ,
ОтветитьAwesome Gary, thanks for sharing, I'm spending a Sunday morning relaxing with your channel on
Big love to you and yours Ralfy
I love how practical your approach is to completing top notch work. I like having some real-time machine work with sound as I am comparing my experiences with what I see. Some fast forwarding is fine but I like to hear the cut. Thanks again for taking the time to post.
Ответитьcool repair job. i like your fixturing. we like seeing the machining also. seems like there are always little obstacles that need to be overcome. makes things interesting. like a custom boring bar. thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьI love real jobs. Weird shit that always seems to make it to the local machinist. Bravo.
ОтветитьThe way we did it before carbide inserts. Great work.
ОтветитьMan you have great tools. I wish I could have a shop like this. I worked on allot of those old pumps, but with hemp and graphite packing instead of the modern seals you used.
ОтветитьVery interesting Gary, great video, keep'um coming.
