I loved Einstein, but one must salute 1st and foremost Galileo, Huygens and Brahe as the creators of what we call modern science, astronomy, etc. The one error many great men of that epoch made was in not clearing their works in advance with the Jesuits. I know, intellectual freedom, etc., but had there been some covert tweaks, none of the trials and punishment needed to be administered. Ironic too as the Church had ties to Galileo, Copernicus, Bruno, etc etc...

Galileo was arresting because the scientific community pressured the Catholic church to do so. He was going up against the scientific theories of his day. The Church had already sided with the scientific community so they had him arrested. It's a common misunderstanding that Galileo was going against the church, but the charges were scientific not religious.

Galileo did not invent the scientific method. Ibn Al Haytham was using it centuries before he was. Copernicus proved the heliocentric model long before Galileo and Hans Lippershey invented the telescope. Sure, Galileo did some amazing things, but this video gives him credit for things he didn't do.
