My friend in 1998 had called the police because when he was out of town his x took his son to a crack house. The cops told him to meet them across the street at the am/pm gas station. When he went to meet them they arrested him for an unpaid traffic ticket. Come to find out he did pay the ticket, it was missed putting it into their system. His father had the receipt and had to bring it to the jail to release him. They never even looked for his 5 year old son.

So, she's here illegally. They saw a deoortation warrant, took her into custody, then contacted ICE and found the warrant was no longer valid because she's applying for a legal visa, so they let her go.

Americans are detained every day by police across the country while they determine who the person is and if there is a valid reason for arrest. It sounds to me like she was treated fairly and was released once law enforcement confirmed her situation.
