So, the Wii is the best Gamecube model?. Do you recommend getting a Wii instead a Gamecube to play GC games?.

By the way, I use my Wii U to play Wii games also.

The Wii has surprisingly become one of my fav retro consoles! Love the Wii so many fun great titles. Mario galaxy 1&2 are officially my fav Mario games ever made! Masterpieces!!!

Points make you spend more money than you ordinarily would

Donkey Kong Country Returns was impressive artistically, but Jungle Beat on Gamecube was honestly more technically impressive with fur shaders.

The Wii is hands down the greatest console of all time because it literally engaged even those people who wouldn't have touched a game console or would normally show zero interest, it had rooms full of people taking turns and even peoples nans playing... Nintendo cracked the code with it and it was pure genius seeing how its popularity unfolded.

I've never understood the baseline dislike for the motion controls on the wii, they're what defined the console! Sure, there are definitely some bad implementations, but the first party games do not fall into that list. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I've always loved the wheel and motion controls on Mario Kart lol

I have mixed feelings of the Wiis legacy. On one hand, it reminded people that gaming can be just for fun, not only for competing. But on the other hand it stained a whole generation of games with motion controls.

Alright, Kirby is scary dude, a weapon of mass destruction. It's uneasy to see him going, absolutely destroying cute things on his path. He's like Majin Boo compacted into a single pink ball of hell.

Wii Punch-Out!! is one of those games that's a lot better to play on the Dolphin emulator than real Nintendo hardware. It's much more fun to play with something like a Switch Pro controller than a sideways Wii-mote or the Wii-mote & nunchuck. It's a shame the Wii Classic Pro controller isn't supported.

Bro. I been using the Wii Balance Board and Wii Fit Plus for almost a decade and I am fit AF - never visited a gym once. Trust me on this one; Wii Fit Plus and Wii Balance Board = A healthy lifestyle.

Idk how anyone can be happy about the controls in mario galaxy. Your sitting there trying to find a comfortable position with the nunchuck and wii remote, then every minute or so they expect you to somehow point the wii remote at the screen to collect the gems. Or am i supposed to sit at all times with the wii remote perfectly pointed at the screen. That sucks

Using points instead of a dollar value for a virtual store is on purpose. You will get a certain number of points for each price tier but what happens is the games don’t cost even amounts. $5 may give you 250 points and maybe a game costs 200. You end up with 50 points and you can’t use them and it encourages you to spend more so you can use those leftover points.

I loved the compactness of the Wii. Some of the 1st-party titles were arguably the best of the best the franchises ever had to date like DKCR, NSMBWii, SMG 1 and 2, etc. And the handful of worthwhile 3rd-party titles were underrated hidden gems like MadWorld, Sonic Colors, Rayman Origins, etc.

I vividly remember the Wii scalping snafu that continued for a long time after the console's launch date. Couldn't find it anywhere, nobody carried it and online scalpers were marking it up for double the price or more. It was comparable to PS5 levels of ridiculous scalping. When Mario Galaxy was released, I knew I had to have this console so I finally folded and paid $400 for a used Wii (MSRP was $249), over a year after the system launched.
