The album is a masterpiece Thank You !
ОтветитьFirst heard this album in 1978, in Montreal and a friend played it everyday (at my request)... Still have the vinyl copy I got in 1978.
ОтветитьI got that very piece of vinyl pictured above. One of my favorite albums
ОтветитьWhat Magic?
ОтветитьJohnny Almond at his absolute best on sax. He really made it sing. I love this song so much. Everyone shines on this track.
Ответитьi also have this album . bought it when it first came out and its still playable.
ОтветитьI've got a girl named Roxanne; we're in the same situation.
ОтветитьAn all-time favorite, still have the vinyl. Discovered in our closet by my drummer son who recently bought a turntable to listen to the vinyl recordings of the old rock music and jazz albums from my collection and my wife's old albums. God bless the music.
ОтветитьI remember the first time I heard it. Sitting in my living room second floor apartment. Beer and cigarettes. Hot as blazes outside. Wanted to turn the lights off so listen. It was and IS great!
Ответитьmy all time favorite john Mayall song....SAX, AND BASE INCREDIBLE
ОтветитьI call her on the telephone
But she is hardly ever home
I know shes gotten a lovin man
And so I see her when I can
Roxanne will always be my friend
And thats the way Ill keep her love
I think shes pretty as a rose
I take her out and buy her clothes
Id like to take her home with me
But I must wait until shes free
Roxanne will always be my friend
And thats the way Ill keep her love
I love to touch her when we walk
I love to listen to her talk
The way I feel I cant explain
But I will wait for her again
Roxanne will always be my friend
And thats the way Ill keep her love

ОтветитьBravo Steven Thompson al basso. Da allora in poi scomparso dalla scena.
ОтветитьOne of my top ... one hundred ... albums - definitely! An old and great favourite, and this song ... wow.
ОтветитьJohnny Almond was fantastic. R.I.P. and thank you so very much for the great great music you gave us.
Ответитьtry learning to play the tenor(or any of the sax's). u will experience the exhilaration of "flying while on the ground" yourself. still works for me all these years.
ОтветитьWORE OUT THE TURNING POINT L.P. PLAYING"CALIFORNIA, ROXANNE&LAWS MUST CHANGE, ALONG W/ROOM TO MOVE..DROVE MY PARENTS CRAZY..LIVED UPSTAIRS..MAYBE 15 YEARS OLD; PLAYED TILL MARRIAGE DROVE ME INTO THE CLOSET( A TENOR CLOSET CASE) W/GREAT TENOR SAX MAN(R.I.P...JOHN ALMOND.. WHAT A "BITCH", BUT OH SO SWEET, HITTING THOSE "FAKE KEYED HIGH NOTES", NEVER MIND HOLDING THEM AS HE DID ))))))))
ОтветитьReminds me of my Dad and my sister. My sister owned the record but my drummer dad really got into this at one point about 1974ish. Just recently, I started thinking about this again. The record captures a time and feeling that, for me, seems like an eternity ago.

FOR A BRIEF FEW PRECIOUS MOMENTS IN TIME I AM FREE TO SOAR AMONG THE CLOUDS, W/NOTHING TETHERING ME TO EARTH, WHERE NO ONE CAN REACH ME, TO DESTROY THE MAGIC. FLYING HIGH W/" JOHNNY ALMOND". IMPOSSIBLE TO DUPLICATE, ETERNALLY TRYING & HAVING A GLORIOUS TIME, THERE TO BE ENJOYED ETERNALLY.
ОтветитьThink about it, no drums!! It’s that good!!!
ОтветитьCapolavoro!
ОтветитьI had older friends thanks to my brother. They gave me albums.....Mayall, Free, Cream, Tom Waits, ...thank you....I jumped over the USA west coast crap. 🥰🦘
