The no phone rule isn’t enforced at mine. You can be on your phone as long as your area is clean and it’s not busy

Worked at a McDonald’s when I was younger. Can guaranteed we only followed that time rule when the big bosses were in. Otherwise, the store managers would just reset the timers 😅 especially the overnight food… it would seem times stay there for 2+ hours 😂

I work at McDonald's and half of this is false.
The managers are required to taste test some of the products to make sure they are correct. And if they're too busy they will ask an employee to for example try a fry to make sure it hasn't set out too long in the warmer.
2nd. We are allowed to be tipped.

We will never give our friends free food In Australia police get discounts though Tatts are also acceptable as long as they are not offensive. Tipping is not a thing really in Aus but it depends on the manager in my experience in the few times we get them we are meant to make them an RMHC donation mostly

Having been a manager at McDonald's (a McManager) I can confirm that this is pretty accurate. Though most managers aren't quite as fire happy as some shown here.
However, I never heard anything about "Ronnie".

If I were McDonald's corporate I wouldn't have reversed that firing decision. If the only thing open is the drive through, then it becomes a security issue to open up the store again just to let a rich overpriviledged entitled proathelete who should know better use the bathroom. Should've found a 24hr gas station

Why are they all bizarre? Long nasty fingernails and cell phone use like happens at my local McDonald's isn't good to have for people handling food. They have enough failures there without those things. Many McDonald's are ridiculous when it come to service and accuracy as it is.

As someone with a McDonald's side hustle, I can tell you some of these might as well be myths.
1. I'm not sure about this one because Ronald is old news at this point and nobody mentioned him.
2. I was never on a shift where the bathroom was closed, so I don't know.
3. You are allowed a free meal for every 4 hours you work that day, though you can't upgrade to large. Also I'm pretty sure the person fired over the cheese slice did a lot before that and that was just the excuse.
4. This one is definitely real.
5. You won't get fired unless you constantly screw this one up, but you would be more likely to just be taken off of grill duty.
6. I'm not sure about this one but it's probably true. I haven't heard anyone try to order one though.
7. I was told to assume someone forgot to set the timers. The real throw out window is double to triple those timers.
8. This is true.
9. I'm not sure about this one.
10. This is definitely true when you are visible to customers, but looking at your phone while working at the same time isn't a big deal out of their sight if you are doing dishes for example.

Most rules here where broken I had and still have long hair they asked me to put a hair net on when they were available and to put my hair under that hat when we don't have them they also had a bathroom rule if u were planning to take longer then 5 minutes in the bathroom u had to clock take a 10 minute break I got into so much trouble for just taking a shit

During the pandemic, they were letting people order through the drive-through they weren’t letting people in trust me. I went to McDonald’s. They wouldn’t even let me in to order and I had a mask or if they don’t have the dining open you can walk up through the drive-through and order Your order through the drive-through I had to do that because they didn’t have enough people but they said I could take my order to the drive-through so I did that I walked up to the drive-through window told on my order they took my card three people and they processed it and I went to the second thing and then got wet. Got my food, but they will still do that.

If McD refuses to fill order using McGangBang, turn around towards other customers in the restaurant and say did you all hear that? McDonald’s DOESN’T use the business model “Customer Is Always Right”. Same with won’t allow you to give an employee a tip. I bet that rule is looked the other way on real fast

I never experienced any of these rules. Quite the opposite actually. They can't attract anyone to work there so when they get someone the last thing they do is make the job any more unpleasant then it already is.

Honestly, I wouldn't say employees have any definitive "rules" they must obey, because in order to be governed by certain rules, you must be aware of these rules, and, in my experience at least, new hires receive VERY little training, if any at all

LMAO, the McDonalds I worked for gave employees free meals everyday, multiple times a day if you wanted it, even if off the clock. Also, ALL of my coworkers including managers accepted tips
