ОтветитьI'm not hating on the video, but this feels very simplistic in terms of what the wealthy are like. If you look at old money, or royal wealth, they don't act well-mannered because they're just normal people trying to uphold their name. This is centuries of accumulated wealth, influence, connections. Elon Musk, Zuckerberg, they aren't shit. They do look like dumbasses in the media. Old money doesn't do this because it does exactly what Elon Musk sieg hiling on television did. It makes the people despise you. They don't steal election by parading in the white house as a very "special" government employee gutting institutions from the inside out.
They do it by funding and lobbying through dark money pools and redundant corporation names. And you pointed out how the "don't ask" type got their money through shady means, without pointing out a lot of wealth is obtained through shady means, at best. Royals had a monopoly on violence and the treasury. They and lots of old money own land, property, which is obtained through shady means. That's how their money is growing. Real estate, stocks, hedge funds. Oh, hedge funds make money through shady means, that's the whole point. We don't know what's going on behind closed doors. Insider trading of course. Senators do it all the time. That's how they make money.
And the whole thing ends with this neutered "and you can also be rich, through hard work and discipline like them." No, luck and inheritance are most of the reason for their wealth. These are not the robber barons of the gilded age who grew up broke and, in an environment, where industrialization was new and there wasn't an aristocracy yet, they took hold of opportunity and made themselves the elite. And even they were greedy and were gunning down workers.
Elon Musk is not J.P Morgan, Mark Zuckerberg is not John D. Rockefeller. Elon Musk's dad owned half an emerald mine, and he benefitted from apartheid. Mark Zuckerberg is a college kid who was in the right place, in the right time, and exploited the right opportunity. Stop painting these people as deserving of drowning in caviar in an infinity pool on their private yacht while people die of starvation and don't have housing.
This just perpetuates the same bullshit that dominates common thought. "The rich worked for it. There's some bad apples, but the majority earnt it." No, not really. After the gilded age things kind of settled down. The pie was long split, it was just a matter for people to inherit it, some to leak out, the leftovers getting divided to create more of the capitalist class, with some shake ups every now and then, just to maintain the illusion.
Mark Zuckerberg and his kind are miracles, not at all something you can expect to attain, sorry if I'm being pessimistic. They are just there to make the rest of us think that we too can crawl out of the mud. No, fuck this shit. Tax the rich, don't tax them, it doesn't matter. They exist. They own capital and spend their time doing whatever they want, spending lavish amounts of money they could never finish spending, while the rest of us sell our time, something we can never get back, for table scraps.
Don't slice off some of their skin and call it justice. Throw them on the poker and slow roast them over the fire. Eat the rich, don't graze them.

Ответить"Soon" as I technically come from a rich family that didn't look rich as well as have royal heritage I found out recently about so by title I'm considered rich but I don't have access to the wealth. Working on building my own empire so I don't have to follow the terrible path I was told to walk and get it the way I can be proud of.
