Is It Over For Rampart Now?? | Apex Legends

Maggie and Fuse are such massive hard counters to Rampart its insane. Knuckle clusters still have so much damage and a massive hitbox. Maybe we need wall hp increased so they don't get insta destroyed ? Gibby Bubble and Newcastle Shield need to have HP and be destroyable ASAP anyway, I'm very sick of this triple support meta.

Why does Newcastle’s wall have like 3000hp (counting all the pieces of the wall) on top of the tactical being unbreakable? This meta is so damn boring

First of all you are not a good player at all. Second, without Shiela you would onlu have max 1k damage per game, your aim is horrible. You should stop playing Apex. Terrible just terrible.

This game is pathetic anyways. No matter the legend, the meta, the map, the update or what ever, you can just buy cheats and ruin everybody's game. Simple. Cheaters are literally in every single game in every single mode and we will never be able to play without. This is it

they made support so strong the rest became not bad but certainly not optimal. i only play support atm just because of the healing situation. Dubble healing on small heals is just so much more fun, nothing worse than only having small heals and thus dying to a 3rd party.

I don't know why everyone thinks that Rampart doesn't fit into the meta. Sure, every team has an indestructible wall on them, but that doesn't make them bad. I currently play with my team on top 100 Pred only Rampart and it works quite well. You just need Lifeline Newcastle behind her to get her up all the time. With Rampart alone you can have enough damage for a whole team, she dies but that's not a problem with the current suport legends.
To be honest, this only works if you have a really good rampart because she has to carry every fight and additionally at least one suport who knows how to play with a rampart.

Another aspect to this meta, when the enemy teams loses a fight the support player runs away and respawns which can be annoying, so my boy Bloodhound comes in VERY clutch. Try it? @thegamingmerchant

i think its funny that rampart cant instant place a destructable, stationary barrier but newcastle can instant place an indistructible, mobile one.

Hell, i climbed to master with rampart in this meta. New Castle wall? Shila destroys! Sure takes a few seconds but still. Ppl aint ready for that. Perfect to execute down ppl. Sorry you can't ress your teammate New Castle. Yes up close shila aint gonna do it. Mid and a bit further range, shila will do the job better then most guns. Still funny how ppl don't see that im playing rampart and they run for cover behind a doors. Now thats a free kill. And the walls are perfect to help ress a fallen teammate. IMO she is still top tier and alot of fun to play. Rampart 4 life.

I'm mainig mad maggie since her release, feel in love with her tac and ult and got the bonus of running with a shotgun! Then she got buffed, which was a surprise for me because I felt she was already strong enough.
And now with all these changes and making my girl maggie a monster, I'm scared she'll get nerfed so bad in the future and i'll have to stop playing her.
Until then, I'm playing pinball all day long and going for those 100 wins lol

At this point they might as well just remove the Battle Royale mode entirely. They are determined to turn the entire game into Rebirth Island where you have 500 chances to revive/respawn each match.

I actually think a rampart, Watson, and caustic, would destroy this support meta.

Yeah itll be hectic, but if they shield and rampart can place some walls, Watson some shields, caustic gas. You do have that second or two before they reach the edge of their shield. Caustic ult in the shield, they gotta push through walls and fences. And if your already set up in defense, even with shields good luck pushing into a set up team of those 3.

Also kinda thought of if you could place 1 wall and caustic put a trap behind it, and then you fall back farther, they either have to destroy the wall to break the trap or turn away from y'all to shoot it, or avoid that area. But probably not that effect on the pro level.

Or you go rev, pathfinder, and vantage to knock one and pounce on the team, it's either gonna be a 3v1 most the time so an easy knock and then just a 3v2 that's really a 3v1. Or a 3v2 if they have a lifeline and you still have the advantage. And just play some aggressive apex. Rev and vantage take the front and path grapples to the flank or behind depending on if they can or what's best in the situation. Ya down 1 and pinch em from 2 sides and those are the 3 best legends I can think of to do that. Don't even give them the time to use their support abilities. They can throw them, but your pouncing up in their face anyways possibly hindering themselves from damaging y'all on the pounce. I think rev and path still have their upgrade to regain their utility after a knock and vantages echo comes back quick enough to pounce out if you have to. Vantage doing her thing can even turn to watch instead of looting and healing first, quick scan with her non-equiped ads is all. Dangerous yes but your playing an aggressively dangerous comp. Like a tiger, stalking prey, downing one and pouncing, getting in and getting out, nice and easy.

She was always over, sadly . As a main Rampart, I can only say that her shield walls are useless. They can be destroyed in 2 seconds, and I know they are supposed to be 'defensive,' but come on, this is Apex, where most of the legends are always moving.

The fact that both the Lifeline dome and Newcastles shield are indestructible really sucks. They basically have no counterplay ("grenades" isn't really an option unless you can pressure all sides at the same time).

I played apex for the first time in 6+ months. Straight to ranked with rampart and got a 2k she’s still great

I think ash fuse and Maggie can counter this shield meta the ash player has to be good with the snare please try it out

I use them with a lifeline, and Newcastle been great to finish people on the ground, thus ending the revive cycle easier

to everyone who think or feel rampart is useless kuz of the new meta, let me remind you that its a fuse + maggie meta because anyone with shields will guarantee b countered by those two alone, reminding u every legend counters every legend so whoever yall say is meta, the actual meta is the legends who counters their abilities

I honestly like Rampart at the moment, she's strong but support meta is strong.
Still with the fights stretching and unable to finish people, ammo scarcity shows up, and whith Rampart your team has a way to always shoot the enemy.

The issue isn't rampart being bad, it's most rampart players playing her wrong. If you're in diamond because bots push while you're passively sitting behind a wall, you're probably not getting out of diamond. Players like gdolphn and other good ranked rampart mains (me included, yeah sheila ego ftw), will use her sheila whenever they can and tap strafe/bhop/... whatever with it to negate the movement penalty. Trust me, even the biggest support crutch pred stacks will melt in a mere instant. Meanwhile every rampart I see I automatically full send because I know it's highly likely they're some noob crutching a character, not able to aim their sheila properly and sitting behind their walls all day. And if they aren't, ego sending with a proper plan in mind is still the ONLY way to play ranked, just like a good pub stomper would play pubs.

Considering I see a few people play Rampart safe to say it's not yet.

Fighting a RAMPART of drop is bs, they need to tone that Sheila cooldown down.

I feel Rampart is especially strong in this meta. So far, I have my highest ranked KD ever. I owe it to running double LMGs and using mounted Sheila constantly. Waiting out temporary, invincible shields with amped walls and gunshields or Sheila or just taking control of their own shields by dropping walls just outside and inside usually works. And of course mounted Sheila with amped reloads lets me just nonstop fire and pressure.

this is why devotion and spitfire are so good rn the ability to just hold down fire for a surprisingly long time makes it so strong against 1v2s

I'm a caustic main and they nerfed him too much. One shot takes out my barrel before it even touches the ground, while rampart barriers take a couple of mags. You can't destroy Pathfinder zips, octane pads, and Newcastle ult is overpowered. The gas damage does very little damage and everyone runs around in it like it's an apple vape. All because "pros" said he's too strong in the endgame. Used to play a lot more but there is absolutely no balance to the game.

Bubble w Mastiff or Lifeline ULt with fast healing is meda & broken.... this is why I run devotion♥️..

Console Rampart doesn't exist. Walls are and have been too glitchy and not smooth enough. Can't even pick them up on Control half the time.

This season is by far one of the worst I’ve ever played idk in what reality this is a good season you get punished for knocking someone and pushing a team like that doesn’t make any sense people are running triple support you get a knock mid range and then your whole team pushes and then the person you knocked by the time you get there in five seconds they already have full HP they got razed with the HP healing overtime and then all the support has to do is pop two cells and they’re back to full HP and you have to somehow deal with that when your team got a knock I’m sorry this is just stupid not being able to capitalize off anything you do mid range is just horrendous people can say this meta is good and all but when you have three characters with indestructible barriers and not much you can really do at times it becomes tedious to fight against you already know what’s going to happen half at a times, and you just have to sit there and accept it I just don’t think this is healthy for the game.

Hot take gibby bubble should be 1500 hp and castle Needs to go to like 350 and lifeline ult should be 2000hp for her ult

Love Rampart. Had 3 great games with her this past week after not playing her for since the beginning of this season. Sheila still is crazy dangerous and I try to get 2 LMG’s rocking with her. Add a gun shield. 🤌

I believe the main issue why TGM is struggling isn’t because of ramp, but because of the way he plays. He is swinging out too much so often and has very ambitious but vague ideas of how to push a team (like, he’ll be right up in their face which I think is amazing, but it seems like he’s playing on auto pilot), getting himself killed in the process. I’ve gotten like 4k kills in ranked on rampart the past two seasons and believe she’s busted — the worse your opponents, the better she becomes. A minigun has a slow strafespeed and while the DPS more than makes up for it, there’s no point in even trying to use it when you don’t hit enough shots and stand in a vulnerable position while shooting…I would even say the gun is best used in 1) creeping up on opponents and throwing them a surprise party, and 2) suppressing fire mid-long range, covering teammates, shooting out newcastle walls in mounted mode, 3) well calculated aggro swings, you cant go down on rampart without knocking at least one person or youre playing her super wrong.

i used to play rampart pretty much because she can place wall and shoot right away. then respawn made a stupid decision. they dont let u quick place rampart wall any more. u have to place all 3 shield and do a cancel move before shooting thing. how unnatural is that? if i have 3 shield in and agun my pocket a. there is no way i take them all out first. just use one and shoot
