Myrtle changing the order of the Seven Wonders test put the girls at additional risk, and may have unnecessarily caused Misty's death. Since the Descensum is the one with the greatest risk, it should be the last test. If a candidate doesn't have any of the seven talents, she isn't the Supreme. So, if it had turned out that Misty couldn't do Divination, for example, it wouldn't have been necessary for her to try Descensum at all. Of course, some witches like Madison have 6 of the 7 gifts. If Descensum is the only one a witch can't do, then she's screwed.

Of course, they even stated that all of the girls trying the tests was unprecedented, as a Supreme would normally have been investigating possible successors - possibly with less dangerous means. So at least some of the blame has to fall on Fiona.

It's not called a horror story for nothing, though. Essentially none of the main characters are innocent. Kyle was basically a good guy, though the business with his mother meant he wasn't innocent - the same for Luke. I liked Fiona describing Steve Nicks as a "white witch" and saying that she refused to join Fiona in "playing the shadows".

I loved Myrtle's comment when they are facing the Axeman and debating what to do with him. Someone points out the he is "a psycho mass murderer", and her response:

""Is there anyone here of whom that could not be said?"

The coven is on balance a force for good, but they are not nice people.
