Precisely dude! I used the other version of this book: Elements of Real Analysis due to sheer boredom caused by My Advanced Calc Instructor throwing off at us bunch of textbooks only to keep us busy..

Textbooks ranging from Schaums Adv Calc to Loomis-Sternberg notorious Adv Calc

Really bad pedagogy which is why I hope you can instill some wisdoms & thoughtfulness, into the psyche of nowadays Maths Instructors

I could say this book is basically my calculus 1 and 2 course. I’m mexican, and unfortunately, I haven’t ever seen this book in a library, so I use a pdf. In new editions there’s an introduction to topology

The book is quite simple to understand.
Its one of the best when it comes to clarity. Terence tao does a good job, but his own is quite technical since it is intended for honor students

Had this textbook for my undergrad advanced calc class, but it was the 4th edition. Very well written. I even made my own YT playlist using this textbook, but it's nowhere near on par with your videos lol . Another great book is Jay Cummings Real Analysis: A Long-Form Mathematics Textbook.

Have you ever encountered the massive time that is "The Handbook of Mathematics?" by Bronshtein? Any thoughts on it? I've always thought of it as an entire mathematics major compacted into one book.

Have you considered running your book review videos through a program like ffmpeg or transcode to remove camera shake? If it were me, I would do that for all future videos. Hopefully you don't take offense to this comment, just trying to help you improve the quality of your videos, because I too care deeply about math education.

The thing that makes it open easily is being a 'sewn' book (as opposed to 'glued'). It really annoys the hell out of me that booksellers today just think of pinching pennies, and 99% of textbooks are glued (all of Springer's, for example), and when you buy them on the net, you just don't know what you'll be getting.

Mathematics is quite black and white. Why to have several books on the same field of mathemathics, on the same level, as I understood via this video? Why mathematicuan lecturers do not create books on the same field, but on different levels? Like introductory (for engineers, etc), intermediate (physics graduate), mathematician and genious level? Or why not just one realky thick book with separate subsubchapters for these levels?

As someone that was forced to take use Rudin way before I should have, I found Bartle's book and it really was written with care to guide someone through the process of learning analysis.

Uneven book. In later editions one of authors is really good. The part written by the second author (suspect Sherbert is the second author) is very bad, writing is opaque, provides neither motivation nor illuminating examples. Mathematicians tend to work alone, lacking communication skill required of good educator that explains why some math text books are pedagogical disaster.

My class uses Rudin :D. And for abstract algebra we use Artin. Sometimes tough books help you gain more mathematical maturity, but sometimes it is nice to step back with easier books like that to gain intuition.

I found that the more advance Elements of Real Analysis by Bartle to be more readable, then his more elementary real analysis text. But this is a hindsight perspective, since I first learned single variable analysis from Abbot.

you know whats been driving me crazy about analysis. in analysis its too easy to either mention too little details, or mention too many in proofs. I mean i sometimes did the latter in linear algebra but in analysis its something else. where do you strike the fine line in between.
