Great video. I found out that residence of the Netherlands will not have the Paypal option. However, if you say 'Cancel' in the website for the automatic renewal, it will simply continue and work.

Thanks for this, I really wish Bull Guard would never change into Norton. I never had this hassle/issue with updating product key for Bull Guard. It's really a very ridiculous move by Norton to demand subscription to even get the product key activated. I will have to look for an alternative product in the future.

Great Video was worried to renew with Norton, with this new forced auto-renew but you have put my mind at ease thank you!, was just wondering did you bother to cancel auto pay in your paypal account, or did you just cancel with Norton themselves

Thanks for the vid - useful to know. You have lost six days on your previous subscription which is annoying. But fully agree Norton is trying to rip you off with the £85 renewal and then the nearly £20 fee if you wait until the last two weeks. Anyone know how to make them work so no days are lost between subscriptions?

I have had a right chew on getting Norton to accept a new product key . The blockage was my registered credit card had expired - so although it looked as though a card was registered; it wasn't. After a lot of going round the Norton Houses I managed to get the new subscription working only to find out that I had lost the remaining days from my old subscription. Only by Chatting with an agent did Norton fix this issue - by cancelling the new subscription and adding 365 days to the old subscription. All's well that ends well (1.5 hours later!)

when it told me it couldnt be installed i just went back to norton app and pressed next and it worked for me

Thanks for the interesting video. You mention there were two ways of adding your new product key, the first option you skipped over and opted for the second option. After you entered the product key using the second option and confirmed you had gone through the various steps in particular auto renewal and succesfully renewed your subscription was there a reason for you then to go the process of entering your new product key using option 1 method having initially skipped over it? Yes, quite cheeky ... I didn't go down the same path you traveled, but have for several years done the same - purchasing new due to price difference. Today when I had my new key and was trying to enter it (they are making it more difficult each year) ... I ended up on a page that said it didn't want to lose me, would I like to renew at a 65% discount - which was a few dollars within the price at Amazon.

I found your video after having wasted several hours on Norton stupid website, trying to find where to go to add my new store purchased product key. Unfortunately these companies are such a big scam, they offer minimal help and would rather want people to purchase again rather than utilising what they purchased.. I find that very shameless lack of help. I even watched their own video, that was again a waste of time. Watched another channel's video but useless.

I'm about to have that fun in a few minutes, except it will be a fresh install. I have noticed with one of my other machines that Auto-renewal periodically gets turned by an update... which can be annoying if you uninstall the software without checking it first.

Hello, me and my mother are using norton. But today I renewed norton on my mothers laptop. So now I wanna renew it on my laptop. How do I do that? Because if I try and enter the product key on my laptop it doesn't work, so do I need to uninstall norton first and then download and install it again? Thanks

I have wasted hours trying to load my new product key, but like you, not wanted to give credit card details or sign up for auto renewal, but it didn't give you any option otherwise. Paypal was the answer, and following your step by step guide, I have now done it finally. Well done you 🙂👍

Norton have annoyed me with this mandatory subscription, I've stopped using Norton now, Why have they forced us to do that now?

Great video. I had to add the Two Factor Authentication to my account before it would give me the product key screen in my Norton account to reenter the product key.

Bloody hell, they have this tied up in a nice little bow don't they!! Why offer one year for £15 and following year for £99?! It is a joke!! Thank you for this workaround - really appreciated...

They screwed you out of 4 days you use to be able to add a key then add a key then have 2 years

Norton must have seen this video and removed all the ways to update licenses you showed. Always a game of cat and mouse to update your licenses before norton hides it in a new place.

Good information mate - have just spent 2 hours trying to renew on my iPhone with store purchased code. Why do they make it so difficult - just pisses people off and encourages them to look elsewhere

Thank you for this. The whole enter key process is so obtuse and the forced renew I feel is to trick people into paying extra for codes purchased elsewhere.

Awesome tip. I just spent a 30 minutes arguing with a Norton rep in some foreign country that why can't she just renew it for the price I see online and in stores. I shall give it a shot. The trouble I had was HOW to find where to enter the key. For NEW Norton 360 users that has the new interface, click on the symbol for your initials at the top to the right of the MAIL ICON then put your mouse over serial number in the list you will see and a button for ENTER A KEY pops up.

Thank you, easy to follow and it worked! Just a warning to everyone: if Norton tells you the product has quit working and you must reinstall it, the installation might turn on automatic renewal WITHOUT your knowledge or consent. This happened to me this year when a month remained on my subscription with automatic renewal turned off. I found out when Norton sent an email informing me the renewal billing had failed and to update my expired credit card information. Imagine my surprise. I had no idea, or warning, that a Norton-directed reinstall would change my automatic renewal setting.
