But I wonder, if this is true in the Indian context, was aesthetisation of power used by a section of the elites to control the Hindu masses... I am curious to know Rajiv ji's point of view on this.

I see it happening in recent context, but did it really happen was it really used as a tool to control the masses by the elites? If yes, what should be our stand? Should we reject it? Or should we accept it just because it's from our culture and important for the unity of the Hindus?

This all sounds right to me, and if correct Pollock should be considered an enemy of Hinduism. However, Malhotra often sounds to me like he believes in the simplistic binary worldview 'India good, West bad'. All cultures have contributed to wisdom, not least the Indians. Our duty is to distinguish wisdom from ignorance, wherever it arises.
