UNWANTED THOUGHTS IN PRAYER

I have been going to an Orthodox Church for 3 weeks now. I was raised Protestant. But through your teachings, and that of the Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel, I have come to find that I was missing alot from my faith.
Orthodoxy is truth, not a denomination. How could it be? Being as she is older than that of the Roman Catholic Church. For she is the Church, the true Church of Christ. Amen.

Your words mean a lot to me and you have helped me keep my head afloat . I still have much to learn . Especially about forgiveness . I am seriously thinking of going to my local orthodox church on sunday , I believe I will go when I am ready . I long for a feeling of community . I will blossom .

I'm Catholic, and this has happened to me many times. I always believed it was demons interfering with my thoughts. I always asked God to take away these unwanted thoughts.

When I was beginning in prayer, I began to feel mental bombardments that never occurred so fervently when I engaged in any other activities. The demons have a deep disdain for prayer and shrivel when man communes with their Father. As I prayed more, their power over my mind dwindled, and I have grown spiritually since. May we glorify God and may we pray ceaselessly as the saints urge us to. Glory to God ☦︎

We know satan is to and frow in the earth seeking whom he may devour; paul thought, be silent, he sensed satans presence: Father God, Lord Jesus, remove satanic thoughts, or satans presence, now we can pray, Jesus wisdom!

Dreams, thoughts, come with the multitude of our business, if we're believers and have types of worldly work, we hear things that go down into our souls: that's why we have the Holy Spirit that crys abba Father, Jesus interceeds for us; if were isolated and only the word and heavenly things we are more tuned in the mind in connection with the Spirit! Thoughts and temptations are not sin, sin is if we do the sin: James, in Gods, Jesus's, word explains this!

Being holy in the flesh has nothing to do with thoughts and temptations, the pure at heart shall see God, even God, Jesus, knows the evil! But, obedience and faithfulness creates a pure heart, even though evil thoughts and temtation are present, Jesus wisdom!

Guys i don’t normally do this,but please i would really appreciate it if you can pray for me,i have been stuck in the sin of masturbation for nearly or even 6 years,i have tried everything then i discovered the love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ(i have discovered a long time ago but that day i felt it and idk how to explain but i had somehow a revelation and i started to follow Christ with all of my heart) and for nearly 3 months i have quit that sin but i had lustful thoughts and dreams and in may i again did that sin and since then i tried to repent and today i felt overwhelmed and i heared a voice(and im not even joking)that said:”I forgive you” and i immidietly started crying and thanking the Lord for everything He has done for me and for eveyone.
Now the thing i wanna tell you guys if you can help me by praying for me to get to know Christ better and to truly repent and if you guys can also guide me and tell me what i should do(oh and i also wanted to say that sometimes i have some generally bad stuff and slmetimes when i pray i say repetitive stuff and like two days ago i started to trust everything and to put everything i had on God and help me get passed everything and sometimes i have thoughts about when i masturbated)

you mentioned that consumption leads us away from God. but i wanted to ask is it therefore sinful to do things like playing video games ? in thr evenings or after work for example,? or can i do those things to relax AFTER prayer and reading the Bible ?

My husband is not a believer and we’ve been married 11 years, he really struggles, I try to be patient, I’ve thought of leaving but thinking ahead and constant prayer for him, me and our marriage- I could never give up on him.

I am constantly attacked daily. When I pray there’s a part of my mind that has snide and even boastfulness saying that God isn’t real. It is there when I go to Divine Liturgy. It constantly assails me and it’s unbearable, I want to follow God, I love him. But this external voice constantly attacks me and distracts me. If anyone else feels this way or deals with this I pray for you.

Thank you father I needed to learn to be disciplined and to stay calm and sober during prayer and not just praying cause I’m joyful. I also learned to keep Christ in my thoughts to not let thoughts dwell in me. This has really helped me thank you god bless.

Our lord Jesus said evil thoughts come from the heart.
