In addition to forcing my tenants to move out of their homes, the corrupt Ogden Housing Authority is also forcing them to take on additional expenses that they can not afford, such as having to pay higher/full security deposits, the cost of their moving expenses, the monthly utility bills at their new residences, and more...

To address these issues, the Ogden Housing Authority held a meeting with my tenants, on January 8, during which they pledged another housing authority's funds, and some of their own, to help my tenants pay their security deposits. the OHA was unsure if they even had any money) Whatever money is made available, will be in the form of a loan, which my tenants will have to pay back, on their limited incomes. (I wonder if the OHA will adjust their new rents to reflect that loan payment as a household expense?)

To address the issue of how my tenants will be able to pay their utility bills (which are currently included in their rent), the Ogden Housing Authority referred my tenants to some assistance programs, but couldn't even guarantee that those programs would have funds available to help them.

To address the cost of their moving expenses? Well, the Ogden Housing Authority told my tenants they were on their own for that.

To help address the possibility that my tenants might not be able to find, or qualify for other housing in the 23 days they were given to be out of their current units, the Ogden Housing Authority extended the length of time that their housing vouchers were good for, by an additional 30-days. Evidently, the OHA is under the impression that my income restricted tenants can afford to put their belongings into storage and continue looking for new housing, while they stay for up to 30 days at a hotel, (that the OHA will not pay for), then move their belongings for a second time, into their new places.

The OHA even set the maximum amount they will pay for rent and utilities, and many tenants are finding it all but impossible to find decent housing at that price, but the OHA has forbidden them exceed that amount.

Unfortunately, in their rush to terminate our assistance contract, the Ogden Housing Authority never even stopped to consider how my tenants would be able to rent new apartments, if they have poor, or no credit...which is exactly what is happening now.

This is a voicemail message from one of my tenants, letting me know that she was turned down for the new apartment she applied for, because of her credit. In truth, she has no credit, which in this country, can be even worse than having bad credit. Her credit situation is not unlike most of my other tenants, so I wonder what the Ogden Housing Authority has up their sleeve to help them out on this?

Hey Ogden Housing Authority... PLEASE stop trying to help my tenants before you kill one of them!
