so, no "Gay"-Scene anymore, where Men meet Men, like in the old days?
ОтветитьI started going to Palm Springs in the ‘50’s. It was a glamour town then. It was until sometime in the 70’s. After that the town went downhill. The gay people I have met there recently are not friendly. They are affected and clannish. I do know a few who aren’t. But the ones I have met have gay to the nth degree. Not fun.
ОтветитьIt's the whitest of white gay community
ОтветитьIts only affordable if you're rich. Forget about it if you're not.
ОтветитьWhy do LGBTQ+ members feel they need to have their own community?
Can't they just assimilate into society like everyone else does?
Face it, being gay is now a privileged class.
We've moved on.
Like Fire Island, Palm Springs will remain a gay Disneyland that most can't afford to ride. I'm glad to know it exists. There are so few heavens on earth for us queers.
ОтветитьDoes Palm Springs promote homosexuality?
ОтветитьPalm springs is rooted in racism, always have been.. of course their is no mention of this...
ОтветитьIve lived here in Palm Springs for over 35 years. It is a warm and inviting city. Its nice to know and feel accepted here as a gay person. I wouldnt want to live anywhere else as a senior member of the community.
ОтветитьYour cute
ОтветитьRegardless of your sexual orientation, Palm Springs like the rest of California is only for the wealthy and powerful. Forget about it if you earn less than $200,000.00 a year. No wonder so many people are moving out of California.
Ответить❤ Palm Springs Gay Pride & Leather Pride are really fun weekends!
ОтветитьOriginally from NYC--moved here permanently in 2003. Beautiful place to live. As a gay man from back East, I find the gay scene here superficial and phony. Did I mention that there are so many gay drunks here?
ОтветитьI lived in Palm Springs for about 3 years. I was amazed and astounded at the total lack of racial diversity in the gay community. It's almost like a 24/7 white party.
ОтветитьSOME “diversity”…could be better. Housing costs are way out of control. Outside of that, as a gay Black American man who cherishes his freedom in a country that is supposedly free, I will never live anywhere else
ОтветитьA friend who moved there w/ his partner told me Palm Springs had (has?) an "epidemic" of meth use , including among older gay men. He also said the rate of STDs is high there. I visited several times but no one else told me this. I am considering moving there but I'm not sure I could deal with the heat as I get annoyed when it's too hot here in L.A. for more than a few days. Someone also told me "Palm Springs is all about alcohol". ?? Don't wanna be Debbie Downer but looks like despite its gay-positive image it has its its less pretty issues. It still sounds like a fun place to live.
ОтветитьI just moved here last month and love it so far!
ОтветитьPalm Springs is okay, the further more you go into the desert towards Indio it gets way nicer. I love living here but Palm Springs is kind of meh.
Ответить30% 😆 More like 50%! 🥳
ОтветитьPsalm Springs is Modern day Sodomy, disgusting repulsive.May Jesus convict every L.G.B.T.Q person.Their is only one family community Kingdom of God,Jesus is Truth........
..
Only in Palm Springs???
ОтветитьThere are gay people in Palm Desert, too.
ОтветитьIsn't it hard to keep a monogamous relationship in a city like that?
If a bathhouse or sex themed retreat wanted to open in my area I would call my local and state reps ASAP and lobby against it. zone it out. It's not good for gay relationships and it's a public health nuisance.
Hope you like your summers extremely hot and very long.
ОтветитьWhen that sand kicks up in the summer hot wind it’s nasty. Lots of drug use and homeless. If you’ve got big bucks and can afford a swanky mid century house with a pool you can insulate yourself from the oppressive heat in the summer and the psycho meth heads roaming around. If you’re an average wage earner you’ll die in Palm Springs. You need to make at minimum 150k a year to afford the lifestyle there.
