Brodie all of this breaks my heart.
Ответитьhonestly since the new pitch clock he has had horrible issues with time management. The lack of strike throwing has obviously had a tremendous impact on his ability to use his movement.
On top of that i’m feeling like he has mental issues and just needs to get his head right. He’s got the stuff just needs to have the mental strength. I believe in him!
👀
ОтветитьAw man This aged like milk after Bob just announced the closer would be Ryan Walker lol😂
Ответитьyes on Hicks!!
ОтветитьI noticed Doval looked lost from the beginning of the season. I wondered if he didn't care right now, or had big personal things on his mind? A recent example: the Core Four Wall of Fame video, when charismatic Santiago Casilla tries to motivate Doval, about the importance of the closing role, who looked lost, staring off blankly. I hope he's ok.
ОтветитьHe has not been the same since last years all-star break. He floundered the second half, and it's carried over to this season
ОтветитьWow
ОтветитьHe has the stuff to be the best closer in baseball. His mind is not there. Hopefully this will motivate him and light a fire under him to get him on the right track
ОтветитьIve heard from places that this may be an attitude problem again, I don’t know him personally he doesn’t speak English so it’s really all up in the air, but it’s certainly a possibility
ОтветитьGot some personal stuff going on
ОтветитьThis is a message being sent to Doval by the team due to his focus on and off the field His stats aren’t that bad as far a closers go. He seems to get used in lots of non save situations if his appearances are double his saves but he only has 5 blown saves. We see more of this kind of thing since the latest collective bargaining agreement was signed and it relates to the service time changes that give players more accurate service time. Teams are more apt to send stars down and bring minor leaguers on hot streaks up.
ОтветитьHe's never been comfortable with the pitch clock, it seems. Maybe some time in the minors can get him motivated to deal with/adjust to the pitch clock
ОтветитьGreat report, Brodie. Thanks for posting.
ОтветитьThis is the right thing to do. He has been erratic, at best. His teammates appear to have lost confidence in him, which is lethal for a pitcher a team calls it's closer
ОтветитьI love it we'll get a better Doval He needs to get humbled.
ОтветитьGreat report, Brody. I think he needs to ride a few buses to snap out of it. Another thing I think is kind of lame and unwarranted. The big light show and music spectacular when he comes into the game at home. I think that went to his young head and put extra pressure on him. In the meantime, the Taylor's, Walker, Rodriquez or Miller can close. Heck, even Hicks can close out games, if needed.
ОтветитьIt's about damn time!
Ответить101 mph cutter gone, what a shame.
ОтветитьYes FINALLY SEND HIM DOWN AND BRING UP THE OTJEE CLOSER
ОтветитьHaving an entrance song with the lights going out doesn’t make you intimidating. How you preform on the mound is what matters 🤷🏽♂️
ОтветитьI think it’s more than how he’s been throwing. His “swagger” feels more like a zero f’s given vibe. If he acts like that off the mound too it’s hanging with a downer personality. On a BASEBALL TEAM
ОтветитьLet's be honest. We haven't signed a closer that was a star until we signed hicks. Camilo has been our most electric closer and has fallen into the comfortable situation. In every other sport, the team signs stars to create competition into the team. That's what we're missing. Camilo hasn't had to worry about anyone taking his job away. Hence, he became somewhat monotone. No matter what he does, he knows that's all we have. Until now. We have Hicks and Walker. Walker has been amazing and has definitely semented his spot on this team. Camilo now has to put his head down and earn thag spot again. Rodriguez is coming up and has been rumored to be our next star closer. This is a slap on the rist for camilo to get his head back in the game. If he wants to. If his playing days are over then so be it but at least we're showing the whole roaster that no one is unreplacable.
ОтветитьIf Jordan Hicks had "tremendous stuff," he'd still be in the starting rotation.
ОтветитьI would prefer Ryan Walker, at this time. Go Giants!
ОтветитьI'm hoping he'll be better for it
ОтветитьYes, he's a below average closer.
ОтветитьIt’s been a weird year for him. He’s a hard guy to read, personally. He’s always been kind of a cyborg, emotionally (which is fine for a closer!) but this season it’s like his head is in the clouds. I think he’ll come back better than ever. He needs this wake-up call.
ОтветитьHicks or Bivens would make great replacements as closers!!
ОтветитьHey if anyone ever gives you lip about the Giants coverage, remind them you got traded to ‘em years ago 😉
ОтветитьAll the talent in the world. It's all in his head now. Dudes too good to fail this much. Good luck Camilo. Hope to see you soon. Go Giants ⚾
ОтветитьDespite his overall talent, Doval just doesn't have that bulldog closer mentality this year. To be an effective closer you simply have to own the 9th inning. He hasn't & that's why he's in Sac now & not SF.
ОтветитьThat’s good we sent his ass back he needs to learn been pissing me off last couples outings
ОтветитьI bet you some other team will take him and win the goddamn entire thing 🤦♂️
ОтветитьMaybe I read into this too much but I think Doval is a symptom of the many issues the Giants have as a team. We have no direction and a FO who is so obsessed with analytics that he thinks reality itself is defined in pixels. Doval was a diva, but you need good coaches to coax good performances out of divas or Zaidi should have traded him at the deadline and got a small haul. Doval has not been good this year because he is walking too many guys. I think he refuses to adapt to the new reality of the pitch clock. He needs more command, and he needs to be quicker.
BTW, IMO the Giants are a playoff PRETENDER, not a contender.
Thank you for calling us a playoff contending team 😆
