you sound too perfect and always leaving out cost of you and more.
It really is too early to have electric chargers and trucks for everyone, all that hustle you telling is just for video and your own climax this all with real glasses seems different. Now multiply your troubles into all drivers.
Great to see EV trucking is feasible in Europe.
ОтветитьGood episode as always, and good to see the future of logistics in the flesh driving both your goals far into a more sensible sustainable future. Hopefully the rude US detour currently underway won't be too long or bumpy and hopefully when reason once more returns there, they aren't the unforgiven.
ОтветитьCan those portable AC to DC chargers help with short haul trucking problems you mentioned, can they be carried along with a truck to add capabilities where facilities are lacking? They wouldn't fit in your ev station wagon would one?
ОтветитьLove your videos. I'm a trucker in the UK and we seem a fair way behind yourselves in mainland Europe as far truck EVs go, certainly we are miles behind when it comes to electric infastructure for trucks.
ОтветитьIt's great to see that the owner (or his son at least) has a truck driving licence and does do driving, so they truly understand when a driver suggests/ complains about something
ОтветитьThanks man, greetings to creamlex ❤
ОтветитьI always look your vlogs. So intresting look into an other Business. Go on cant wait to see 😊
ОтветитьGreat video.
I hope you enjoyed your stay in Spain.
Saludos
Watching your videos makes me feel it will be ok for me to bring my 45 ft canoes to racing Germany as all the doubting people think that I would not be able to get a charge to do the run, I am towing my trailer with a Skoda four-wheel drive, I'm looking forward to having less fun very Britain getting a charge,, just one other thing your tacho could you put it on ferry mode to drive it around after charging to rest period
ОтветитьI have driven my MG5 from the UK, all over Western Europe, 15 countries in all. Spain had the poorest EV infrastructure but it's getting better. I found the Zunder chargers to be the best & fastest, giving me 96 kwh on my MG5, they are also generally the cheapest. Tolls are in the Basque Country & Galicia, the rest seem to be free. In the UK we have many electric buses and refuse lorries, plus delivery vans. I have not yet seen an Electric Truck outside of the @fullychargedshow events.
ОтветитьFor future reference; please include the mass of the trailer load at the start of your journey, thank you. I had no idea that electric trucks were as capable as you have clearly demonstrated. I am subscribed.
ОтветитьTobias, I enjoy watching your videos of your travels with the electric trucks each week. Keep up the great work, it’s so positive and informative 👍
ОтветитьWow, a video almost an hour long and it felt like 20 minutes! Very interesting. Seems your headaches re broken chargers is not much different than here in Northern Canada. Very frustrating. A very informative video and really nice to see the owner doing some driving too. I always respect a boss/owner who can do the same work from time to time. Thanks.
ОтветитьYou came close to Portugal. If you came close to the Lisbon in a next time I would want to see the truck for sure. I never saw an eletric Iveco with portuguese plates!
Ответитьgreat series...
Ответить5000 is insane!
Ответить👍
ОтветитьYou need to look up Outback Australia trucks if you want to see a long truck :)
ОтветитьThe truck's so new, yet it still goes beep beep when it backs up, not tisshk tisshk!
ОтветитьI am fascinated by your videos. I enjoy comparing European driving rules to American rules. There must be pay differences that accommodate those differences. And also worker status seems to be different in relation to workers rights. Thanks for your hard work.
ОтветитьIf you believe that coffee in France is better than in the Basque Country, you should re-evaluate your core beliefs, Tobias! Great video as always!!
ОтветитьALL electric vehicles should have charging ports on both sides.
!
Again this is great feedback, it is great having good front end items but if the backend cant handle it, it is just a shiney toy.
That and expanding the map of viable routes you can take, but pushing low has its down sides as you saw, that and mixing driver time.
Welcome to Madrid!
ОтветитьWelcome to Madrid!
ОтветитьWhat the hell is this dubbed bullshit? Stop dubbing.
ОтветитьThe door hands are under the bottom of the door towards the rear on the magnums.
ОтветитьHaving brake lights on while in regen makes no sense if speed is constant. Would be really annoying on long downhills to drive behind a vehicle with those on constantly.
Brake lights should be based on a deceleration rate.
Manual toll booths should be illegal in 2025. They haven't existed in over 10 years here in Norway on public roads. It's all automatic via a tag or plate reading.
ОтветитьHave you done a brake down of costs electric v desiel from a initial purchase, daily running costs, servicing costs/frequency and a monthly milage and yearly costs comparison.
ОтветитьHello!
What do you mean with 21 hours?
As I know max driving time between two drivers is 20 hours.
Saludos from Spain!
ОтветитьIECharge stock cheap energy in 500kWh batteries. I suspect that once the battery is empty the charges shutdown. 😢
ОтветитьIn Australia, the “long trucks“ are called B-Doubles. Very common on our roads. In South Australia, the Northern Territory and West Australia they’re allowed to go to full road train which is typically three trailers, but it can get up to five. The biggest right now is the Janus Electric truck road train which I believe is the heaviest road going EV in the world, transporting up to 165 tonne.
ОтветитьI have a MG .. designed in London.. built in China.
ОтветитьI own a Fisker Ocean and am part of the Fisker Owners Association where we are taking over the cloud infrastructure and it will be a community lead developed car from now on. Cool to see a Karma!
ОтветитьIf you go to Spain again you might want to investigate Zunder for charging
ОтветитьElectric trucks are great, but their noise is more like a milk float! Come on designers!
ОтветитьThanks for all of that very interesting to see how the different countries offer different things. Interesting to see how your boss gets involved at all levels. Also a good driver. Thanks again. Bob from Kent England.
ОтветитьEpic journey dude. How about some "boring" excel like video comparing diesel vs. electric trucking in Germany with TCO stats and everything?
ОтветитьJust make a calculation all trucks cars and vehicles in Eu for instance, where does that power coming from and where all the trucks and cars standing during that charging time and how big areas are lost to new power plants and charging areas (also in town) every street needs to dug up to sink new cables... ridiculous how much copper you need for this task why these green people don´t stand near copper mines.
You will start to consume more and waste will be even more an issue than now you sink into it. Most components are still made from plastic and plastic is made of ... .
Everything will go bigger and bigger when this bubble explodes then what.
It is Super ignorant to think that electric will be green.
And what russians did at first, they destroyed all that made or linked to a word electrical power.
Then happened what, when no power. IF LUCKY then how far you will drive... promised 500km or actual 270km.
Wait for how long to charge and look for working station or having a standing position in the charging queue... this electrical stuff sounds so hypocrite and bad that it is even worse to mention.
Nothing is green it was until last horse cart was on the street and hein was made with horse or by hand.
Until steam engines started to pollute and this is where it all started. You want it green then go to the time before steam engines and it wont happen with that human mass today.
So Nanno should of left some horses in service to provide niche service and feel honestly better of him self and for company not painting picture of electricl truck being green it is like donald is telling a Zelenski being a dictator and everyone supposed to believe it, while facts are different.
All that is super nice when it is more like free choice and will be like shifted into the everyday life, but now it is just some sort of hustle and sprint of who will be the greenest and "better than the others". selecting and diversing normality into absurd.
you still do not give answers to how much you cost to client while sitting and charging 1,5 hours every after 300km and how diesel would match better and would be greener if diesel would cost 1 euro per litre and it would grown on fields and
Not drilled out and all before mentioned copper fields and other mines would be left in peace. And all you do is not driving it is seeking your working chargers and calculated stops with hopefully woring chargers.
That is not driving that is second job. And you will not be the one who will feel that way if there is no free charger and parking area will be full of drivers who are Next in line to ave 1,5 hours on top of 5,5 hours waithing to get to charge. (it is just nice to have few drivers or companies like you but tere need sto be other solutions as well to balance out all this mental hustle where people like you are falling.
Not mentioning that you had a good luck in life of making side or main money by your company, but now consider others millions of others in the same position who are still having kettle out and making food next to their lorrie because not all can be directors or having good opportunities in life.
How much heavier is your electric truck compared to a diesel of same? Would you be happy paying more to drive this heavier vehicle, or only allowed to carry lighter loads so that the overall weight is still equal to a diesel of same?
ОтветитьThe Tesla Superchargers that you've encountered are known as V3.5 as they're a combination of a V4 stall (/post) with a V3 cabinet (up to 500 V & 415 A per stall). This setup provides longer and better cooled cables of the V4 stalls, but it's still not able to charge the vehicles that require 800V and has the same charging rates as V3 with the exception of the case when your charging would be throttled due to an overheated cable. YT channel Out of Spec Podcast has released a video 2 days ago on the V4 Supercharger cabinets (up to 1000 V & 1200 - 1500 A; 615 A per stall) and yesterday they released an episode about the new Alpitronic HYC 1000, which will also work with this Cabinet & Stalls system, where the Cabinet will have 1MW of maximal total output and that can be delivered to vehicles from multiple MCS, CCS or CHAdeMO equipped stalls, depending on what the charging location operator specifies. Both of these should start appearing in Europe later this year, where in case of Tesla, an upgrade of a site that already has V4 stalls can be done by just swapping the cabinet from V3 to V4.
P.S. I loved the takes with the dog in them, especially the ones where you were sitting in the passenger seat and the dog was sitting behind you on the bed and looking into the camera as if he was also going to say something. Please don't forget to include him in each video as he's clearly an essential part of the crew.
That S-curve looked pretty snug, good thing no one was coming. Biggest thing I ever drove in Germany was an M35 and it was awkward enough in small villages. Not having power steering didnt help.
ОтветитьWatching your lengthy video today sure beat to scrolling through political videos. Thanks for the relaxation and the breath of optimism for the future. ♿️🇨🇦
Ответитьin Hungary, the tesla supercgargers are the only fast chargers where - if you own a non-tesla - you have to start te charging session on the app first and then plug it in the car. All other chargers work in the opposite order.
