Never heard of this band until a couple of weeks ago. Then they appeared in my playlist - I think because I dredged up an old Curve song from the 90s! This woman has a very distinctive voice 👌

METRIC standard of musical measurement in the SLOW DANCE of the TONIC PRECISION of the keyboard in particular really mapping out the sound with the vocals is very natural. I remain stuck at FANTASIES & SYNTHETICA and haven't heard the most recent METRIC albums since that time say some 10 years ago. I recently got back into METRIC & as a bassist it's nice to fall into REFLEX & just groove along with the vocals & make it all fit as you listen along...

The FANTASIES album really lifted my spirits back in the day & guided me to approach songwriting eventually as I wrote my own songs beginning in 2016. Staying in a songwriters ritual of producing music out of reflex using fitness is what has worked best for me. But then you get so much stuff & keeping track and organized is a real challenge.

METRIC will be making smart & insightful music forever. The power of girls is surely proven with METRIC and EMILY HAINES.
The drumming is symmetrical as can be & very electronic-like in style in the most impressive of ways.
Guitar is emotionally and pops, the tone usually bright & still raw.
METRIC help people achieve balance & musical prowess even. Cat Power also inspires songwriting cause the approach is not a mess of layers I suppose.
