Ultimate. I have loved Metric, but specifically Emily Haines since 2009, when I heard the song Help I'm Alive in Tower Records in Chicago, and a Visceral response Ive only had 4 times in my 51 yrs .... b-lined it to the coynter and emphaticallysaid,"WHO IS THIS?!!!

There will never be a word strong enough to tell you what it feels like. To listen to your music, your lyrics, your voice. Ive fallen in love with your band in 2008 and the passion and thrills never, ever can stop. Thank you for making feel the way i feel when i listen to these songs you wrote, played, shared, recorded. Music is a miracle that you can expect everytime you push the play button, How can we not be just grateful about that.

Doomscroller is an anthem for today, for the world to move from widespread pessimism, anger, and hate to an insistence on a better future. The heavy baseline at the end punctuates that we should accept nothing less. Great band!

Nice to hear such wide-ranging touches of inspiration, from Pink Floyd to Coldplay.

It's an absolute epic. High octane and tense first act and an acoustic last 4 minutes to ease it all away, just a few moments of Emily opening her arms out to hug you. Those last 4 minutes genuinely have a transcendental vibe to them.

Forgot how much I needed this song.

Wasn't expecting this sound from a new track by Metric. I like the house thing, moody prog for the intro with that nice electro hook in between. Then the outro of the song switches to their classic sound rather than completely reinventing it.. I can get on board with that, important to not let new producers define your entire sound as a band.

I like how the video contrasts the themes of light and dark for the band between the electronic production and a more typical, instrumental focused studio session as an allegory for how electronic influences in the music industry can be difficult for a four piece band to adhere to while retaining their integrity.
