The most exciting part of this movie for me was seeing Nat Tena randomly pop up looking cute as always but somehow speaking perfect Spanish.

I still don’t understand the motivation for wanting to come here. Is this a prison or a rehab center? N do people ever actually leave and come out? Bc why want to go there just to “give up smokin”

In the first movie they had a system of absolute anarchy. In this one they had a strict system that was enforced with absolute tyranny. Taken together, the movies show what happens when people try to solve the problems of one extreme by taking things to the opposite extreme. All they ended up doing for the population as a whole was to exchange one form of suffering for another.

What about the countless players who didn’t make millions playing and had a very short career? Why they staying quiet?

First one was great. This one is complete trash.

The Drowning Dog - the painting that is shown in the movie - is made by Goya and is part of a series of paintings (aka the Black Paintings) he made when he was in a very low point in his life where he had lost the hope in mankind by the horrors he had seen during his life caused by war and famine. He had seen how man was, at his core, egocentric and monstrous.

A very good choice of painting for this movie that also focuses on this theme.

The 1st is so much better, this one is forgettable and boring

The platform was never going to work without force/intervention or better yet it was RIGGED TO FAIL because inmates at the lower levels of scarcity, even if they are new comers, end up becoming barbarians out of starvation, these barbarians are then intentionally reshuffled to the upper levels of abundance so that they would certainly eat the food of other inmates thus disrupting the system. The vertical management system was purposefully designed to fail!
