P.S. IF Oceans RAMSEY was even a self proclaimed zoologist, ecologist, etc. She'd put her feelings aside & collaborate with others who R in the same field of sharks. Instead of ignoring them & sayin the same thing "they R NOT MINDLESS monsters"

As much as I liked the Grizzly Adam episodes because he died by a bear (his bear) doesn't really prove that people and bears can coincide. What that does prove is no matter how long you interact with bears you will be killed by the bear, it also proves that bears are killers not friends.

I loved Grizzly Adams tv show. I do not recall anything at all about the animals he retained for showing and in the tv show it showed a completely different story about how he got Ben. I was young when the show was on might have to re-watch it. Thanks for sharing

I hate hunters. Why cant they leave this beautiful wild animals at peace? Why? I just hope, and pray 🤞🙏🤞🙏🤞🙏 every hunter gets hunted. I just pray 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 this beautiful animals survived, and kill every human being that goes through its path. This is sad, but true. Human beings should know better.

Any person who enters Black Bear territory without a powerful handgun such as a S&W 44 Magnum, S&W 357 Magnum or even the S&W 50CalMagnum is an idiot becuase your risking your life, wife and family. All people killed by bears lost ans wasted their lives however hubby and had taken action and down went the aggressive black bear because both of us leveled the playing field with 357 Magnums. The bear did some damage but two shooters is better than one so protect your life because you only get one. We felt bad for the black bear who was ready willing and able to kill us and on the other he was tasty and made a nice rug and his weight was about 600 pounds.

The original black, rapids lodge sits out along Richardson Highway. There is a new black rapids lodge that sits behind it. Also, there is a black Rapids training facility for special forces the book Wolfman of Alaska the Frank Glaser story is well worth the read. I worked in 2016 and 17 along the Richardson Highway from Tok to Delta so the book in the story of Frank were fascinating to me.

I don't think he "decimated" a species, and many of the judgemental people condemning him can barely survive the public transit system of the major cities. A Grizzly of the frontier days was one of the worst nightmares you could come upon. They were known to simply break down your door and lay waste to a family. Even the native Americans dreaded them above all. What a Grizzly could do to a native village can only be described as "carnage". I don't hear these modern day wimps saying that the native Americans didn't have the right to live where they did. The man died the way he lived, in competition with mother nature. Sooner or later, if you don't get out of the game, mother nature always wins. When it gets down to it, mother nature ALWAYS wins!

For better or worse, I think Old Ike met the perfect poetic end to his life after killing so many bears for personal gain! If I’m not mistaken a few dozen Grizzly Bears still roam Idaho to this very day…

Bears in old times were nightmares even now they still casually tank high calliber rifle shots to the face

I think there are two kinds of bears. The first kind run away like hell at the first indication of a human, and should be left strictly alone. The second kind which is all other bears, should be shot. With cubs, without cubs it doesn't matter. They run away or they get shot!

Old Ike did us a great service saving countless lives and live stock. He may have lost his life but won the battle taking down over 100 bears, so that’s a score of at least 100 to 1 but if you count the potential off spring it’s much greater. 👏

I just love your Channel and the fact that you spoke of Grizzly Adams which growing up was one of my absolute favorite shows and stuff and I always knew it was based on a true story because of my grandpa thank you so much for covering this bringing him to life once more

Educated people have no common sense. They go into wild bear country defenseless. I carry a magnum pistol,cell phone and read many stories of people using bear spray died only a few have a. lifetime of surgeries with the disability of a very damaged body. Do your research about bears as you go into their territory that you know little about!
