I feel for yall ain't no way i would want to live in a state that cracks down on anything modded. We had full tube chassis race cars growing up that never even got looked at on road.

This is why I exclusively go to actual car cruises or events. Especially ones with an entry fee. Cars and Coffees around Pittsburgh also usually have a decent crowd. These BS grassroots "meets" in random shopping center parking lots are nothing but teenagers and their parents commuter cars anymore. When I bought my Camaro, I didn't take it to any shows or meets until I had at least 7k in mods done to it and I felt proud of the work I had done to it. Never tried showing off a showroom-stock car. I also never bought a base model and tried making it into something it's not.

I wish people took more pride in their vehicles at these events. You don't have to be Da Vinci to enter an art exhibition, but you also better not show up with a finger painting and stick figures.

Damn, as a G37 owner, the kids have really ruined it for us who are actual enthusiasts and don't do dumb shit at meets. They've tainted us but not all of us that drive a G37 are douchebags. What a sad car scene in SoCal. I'm in SW Florida and it's about the same. When I was in Cali 15 years ago, despite the ricer scene, it was much more entertaining. This is sad.

I’m not sure where you get your income from, but nowadays people are tight and can’t go crazy with spending $ on cars or car parts/builds. I think that’s definitely a reason why meets are lame. Also takeovers tainted car enthusiast reputation.
