I work for Allied I was working for G4S they merged. I will say this Allied training was better and the pay was is better. I hear what you’re saying a lot is true especially with management and turnover. I work a good post that pay is exceptionally well , in fact the pay for armed security at my post is much more then most security companies. It all boils down to you post location and the management at that branch office. But a lot of security companies are the same especially in contract security. It’s better if you work at for a government or state contract.

I worked for Allied for 2 years doing part time work. I got to work various posts, from Airports to schools to events to buildings. I think for starting out, it's not bad and the schedule is flexible. I got brand new uniforms. My experience wasn't bad with them.

Thanks for another excellent video, Brother. My two cents: AU is our chief competitor in my area and state. I live in a very rural area of NC. I have the good fortune to work on an Armed contract, and the company is based in the same state. I'm convinced that the only reason our contract wasn't undercut by them is because they don't seem to get into too many Armed contracts. (If you know otherwise, let me know) The hospital a few miles away from my site employs unarmed AU, and I've been actively approached by them 3 times in the past 5 months. Turned them down for several reasons that you've covered. 1. Pay: I'm a first line supervisor for my current company. (Sergeant) To take an equivalent position with AU, I'd have to take a 23% pay cut for an Unarmed position. (Their Guards are starting at $20, their Sergeants start at $22 here). In a rural environment that's not bad at all, but 2. Their UOF policies and 3. Poor Treatment of employees are the others. I've done Armed hospital security before, and TRUST ME, FOLKS: There's no way IN HELL I'd ever consider hospital security if it was an Unarmed position. Generally: say NO to Unarmed Security.... and I'd say just say NO to AU.

Allied universal security and Securitas has more cons than pros in the private security industry so I would not recommend that anyone would work for them unless you are interested in having as an unarmed security officer where you can’t even go hands on when someone commits a felony or misdemeanor related crimes, unless the client and the companies allow you to you can’t even wear tactical gear on you to prevent from getting shot or stabbed, however from what I was told the pay with them rises anywhere from $19-$22 which is good for the most part but there’s no room for any job advancement at all which is so frustrating. Plus they barely pay for health insurance, dental or vision insurance.

I've been working the same site for now since 2005 December. I was a supervisor when a former security company were on site. Allied purchased the old company. I just switched uniforms. The did offer me a position as a supervisor, but I turned it down because I could be a better asset to the site as a regular beat officer.

I used to work with Allied when I was bit younger and even worked with G4s before it got fused with Allied. Those were my first Security jobs when I was in college and I had an overall good or at least average experience with them. It's a shame that nowadays they are just not doing what once made them so good. I will always be thankful for the opportunity that Allied Universal gave me and I will always be grateful for the awesome supervisor who was pro employee and professional in many aspects. that time with the company was well spent. But, I think the company really needs some better quality control.

Allied is a great way to get into cyber security at an entry level. Look up SOC jobs (Security Operations Center) starting rate is $22/hr, OT at $34/hr…..they are always hiring, you’ll be surprised how many companies outsource low level IT duties to companies like Allied.

I was with Allied as Special Police Officer on Washington DC Transit System. They were a joke. Unprofessional, put officers in dangerous situations, incompetent leaders who took no accountability for anything, fly by night training, unclear/contradictory post orders. For the job you had to have at least 5 years of experience and be over the age of 25. Ha, yea right! It literally got to a point where they were just handing out a badge and a gun to anyone and said here u go good luck. Can’t even begin to count how many negligent discharges happened while turning in weapons. Shit was a joke. As long as they get their money they don’t care about u, your safety. Shit is crazy!

I already delt with alot of these issues you mentioned while I was in the Army for so many years so I can probably handle the shenanigans for the most part and hopefully nothing bad happens on my end. I'll be posting a spot that doesnt early have alot of traffic. Just people that work there.

This is the 1st time seeing a podcast that had both negative and positive information. GREAT JOB.
I work at Allied now and have been promoted to supervisor about 3 months ago. My biggest issue I had with it was the training. I had to figure it all out on my own. (Had some help but not much).
When I was working at G4S, and they wanted a backup supervisor, they put us through training and made sure we knew what was going on. Allied just gave me a computer and basically said, "Here ya go. Good luck!"
Everything else you mentioned deals with work ethics. A lot of people these days don't know what that is, and that is why they only last a day or 2.

I currently work for Allied in South Carolina. Our Hourly at the moment is $16.50 for hospital security. Contract negotiations could bring that hourly number up. I have no complaints, there is plenty of OT, and advancement is quick if you want it. We are on a rank system. I think it is $2 a Chevron. LT and up are Salary starting at 35k a year. I don't know the salary numbers for Captain or Major.

Listen I want to let this announcer know something. As a security you don't have any police clout to chase down swing on any force on anyone. You Savvy I was doing security when most of your audience wasn't even alive around the time of the state mandate. Back then it was different. You had 2 ways to go. The easy way or the hard way. Usher in the cell phones and changing world you have security guards that cannot engage with shoplifter at all unless your private or hospital police. Again all security guards are Civilians.

It's a stepping stone not a destination. They're paying me to gain experience and my credentials. If along the way I get an opportunity with them, great. If not I'll find one elsewhere. They're the McDonalds you make mistakes on so you dont screw up when you're working at that 5 star restaurant you'll be at in 5 years. That said, their lack of training rep is well deserved. My supervisor/trainer told me to train the other new guy on my fifth day then got mad I didn't do it well. Ridicules when you ask a question, gives the wrong answer (because he doesn't know), yells out of the blue for no reason, etc. He's obviously new to supervising so I don't let it bother me, but it's what you can expect. Use them for the experience while you look for a better company.

Honestly if you're fresh out of the military and kept your clearance this is an easy money maker for sure while you work on your degree or whatever you're choosing to do, I got out of the navy in 2020 took a cleared allied gig and was making like 28.00 + 4.00 for whatever extra pay came with the site, majority of my day was nothing, every now and then I'd have to escort an uncleared visitor to or through an area to meet their guest, but yeah no training, some times they wouldn't add in my overtime pay this actually happened a lot, I didn't have a relief so I pretty much worked the same hours every day 5am-1pm, but I'd have to stay longer if the client needed , had to work holidays, no communication with my manager, in fact days that I wasn't actually working I'd still get paid for because my manager never paid attention to when I was working because I was getting paid for days that I told her that I was not going to be in hahah.
