ОтветитьThe only thing I know, is Greg, Sean, and Mike all agree someone at 20-25% bidy fat doesn't need to bulk anymore, as their body already has a calorie surplus on it.
All agree that you can't gain muscle under a certain fat percentage.
And almost all viewers who hate on gregs approach, think that maingaininc means making solid gains at around 7-10 bf%.
Gregs "Maingain" lingo is a little too broad, and can seem to move a bit (based on the videos Ive seen) but I understand where he is going with it. If you are 10% body fat, you are pretty lean. If you go in to a 250 calorie surplus, thats a half a pound gained in a week, thats 12 lbs in 6 months. 6 months wont make you " Fat" by any means, but that would put you up to a higher body fat percentage, to where you will eventually build muscle way better. He then seems to me to suggest staying there, and just continuing to build muscle, at that %, wherher it be 15, 18, or even 20% and not focus on being lean 10 and under %, because you wont make gains maintaining that body fat %. I do also believe that Greg is trying to not encourage bulking, becase most people DO go overboard with it, and gan like....12 lbs in a month, and think that thats all muscle. As a caveat, sean spoke about that happening to him as well as I recall. Now where I will say they different is, sean does promote the bulking cutting cycle as a part of regular traning. Whether thats bulking and cutting for the sake of habing an on and off season to be able to get true progress pictures etc, or just to keep you motivated to build, and cut to physically see your progress, I'm not sure. But I dont think either are wrong.
The issue is people not really understanding 100% where greg is coming from, and either focusing on his controversial wording, over estimating their gaining ability, or adding their own projections in to what greg is saying.
I take it as if he were to talk to me,
"Get to around 18% body fat, and stay there, at that exact body fat and just build muscle from there
Dont go over that %, and dont worry about cutting". As you gain more muscle / weight, youll likely need to eat more, to maintain that %, so yes, technically you'll be eating more, but your body fat % in general shouldnt vary by more than a % or two (basically staying the same) up or down. Granted, I'm not happy (mentally) around 17-18%, but my body has plenty of energy, and I can gain better, so I'm happier Physically. Thats just my take tho tbh. I believe sean would even tell me to be around 17-18% to build muscle, and that I'd be stupid to try to build at a low body fat %. And that also, as I build more muscle, I'll need to eat a bit more etc to stay at a high enough% to build at optimal rate. Sean is Goated imo. I think they really do dissagree on terminologies, and perhaps the extent of the definitions, but both (If you really listen to the things they say) will help you build. Moral of the story, Dont be afraid to not have abs.

ОтветитьFor people who have a hard time watching the video. We both promote maingaining. You can call it what you want but if your body fat stays the same and you don’t get more fat then you’re not bulking. You’re maintaining your body fat and building muscle. To do this you look in the mirror and if you’re not getting fatter then you’re doing it right if you’re getting leaner then you need to eat more. Unfortunately I’ve done about 12 videos on this and people don’t understand the basic concept. When you go on a lien bulk you’re actively trying to get an extra calories looking for more calories trying to bulk up even though it’s a slow bulk it’s not maintaining because your body fat is going up if you build 5 pounds of muscle and add 5 pounds of fat in the process it’s not mean gaining that is lean bulking
