"I can't." 2 small words have such an impact on the audience. I've seen this movie numerous times over the past 30+ years, and that line still gets me emotional.

At it's heart it's a story of two people that want to be together but can't be.

I completely get and understand that there's a lot of comedy and the entire premise is rather silly if not completely far-fetched. But none of that stops it being an incredibly sad and moving movie.

I'm so getting cancelled for this but one time I was getting drunk with my bros and somehow we got on the topic of Edward Scissorhands and I guess with him being so pale white, my buddy said "what if Edward Scissorhands was black?" And then I said he'd be called N-word Scissorhands. And then to make it even funnier my friend chimed in and said N-word Niggahands! And idk something about sensoring it at first only to actually say the word directly after was just the funniest thing in the world to us! 😅

I just watched the movie and one of the biggest takeaways I had is this:

I think 3 people told him they knew a doctor who could help, he accepted but they never take him. Everyone uses him for their own selfish reasons until they hate him but no one ever took action on their offer to help him.

I was thinking the mom was the exception because she was the nicest to him but even she would practice her makeup on him.

Till this day this is the saddest movie ever existed

I watched this for the first time as a child... I remember feeling sad about this beauty of a masterpiece, but I never really understood why this film in particular made me feel sad. Years go by and I watch it last night as an adult, and this movie tore me to pieces. Hilarious but dark and deeply relatable... there will never be another film like this. This is one of the greatest if not THE greatest film ever produced... Simply awe inspiring and a gem that has the ability to withstand the decay of time. 🖤👌🏼😭🤙🏼💯

The ending wasn’t that I thought it would be.

The career that Depp had off the back of Edward Scissorhands and for the next 20 years is something very few actors get remaining at the top for that long. Then he met Amber Heard and she destroyed his fairy-tale for good.
