ОтветитьIn Tamilnadu Ragi and bajra millets were used by our ancestors in their daily diet as Koozhu, kallii. Rice was meant to be a rich people's diet. My great grandmother used to make rice idlis on Diwali and then slowly it started taking place over ragi and bajra. Now being aware people have started using them in rice idli idiyappam.

ОтветитьVeg diet is crap. Pulses , millets etc have more proportion of carbohydrates than protein and calcium in them. Ultimately we will get loaded with more carbohydrates with veg diet.

ОтветитьBut sesame seeds have more oxalates,high calcium and high oxalates will result kidney stones. And the body doesn't get calcium becoz to form calcium oxalate in intestine. So it's better to avoid sesame seeds and other supplements which r high in oxalates.

ОтветитьRagi malt is used alot in tamil nadu specially given to babies..instead of curd and milk is used for babies and kids. Curd is mixed for adults and also known as aadi koozu eaten in devi temples as Prasad in aadi month!!!
