There was a very hot day in Forest hills, Queens, New York (home of the old tennis stadium), that the sky opened up in a super heavy drenching downpour out of nowhere. It lasted maybe half an hour and the smell of the dirt and leaves rose up off the ground. It was unforgettable. It took me back to childhood and the smell that Tilda described, though then it was in the English countryside. The experiences taught me to take the time to enjoy nature, not to run and hide from it.
