ОтветитьGeen fan van Slimme Deursloten, mijn buurvrouw heeft net de NUKI ultra weer eraf gehaald, deur stond al paar keer wagwenweid open, gaat niks boven veilige sleutel
ОтветитьI've used both the Switchbot Lock Ultra and the Aqara U200. I love both, while I do like the form factor or the Ultra much better than the U200, I regret that it needs an app to be set up. The U200 can be entirely set up locally and/or without the Aqara app. That said, I'm currently using the Lock Ultra because I like the rechargable battery and backup battery, the puch-button to lock/unlock, and also just how dang quiet and fast it is. Both are good locks either way.
Thanks for the fun video, always enjoy watching.
I installed this lock on my door one week ago and so far, I'm loving it. My euro-cylinder lock is made my Ultion and has a thumb-turn on the inside. For this lock, the supplied adapter 'A' is the one to use but like Ed in this video, I had to make a small modification. The shaft on the Ultion is a fraction too long and when the adapter is installed tightly, it prevents you from inserting the key on the external side. To fix this, I took a drill bit to the inside of the adapter and made it a tiny bit deeper. I don't think I shaved off more than about .5mm and now it fits perfectly. The adapter was also missing a grub screw but I salvaged the grub screws from the thumb turn and used one of those.
There seems to be a bug in the Switchbot Bluetooth integration that causes this lock to loose contact with Home Assistant. I've heard this will be fixed in Home Assistant 25.07. Also, right now neither the Bluetooth integration or the Cloud integration can see the Keypad Vision. No big deal but if it could be added in the future, if only to be able to monitor battery status, that would be great.
And yet I’d rather rely on dead bolt locks.
ОтветитьAnother useless product from SwitchBot—as long as the keypad can't be integrated with Home Assistant...They only make promises but never keep them!
ОтветитьI would NEVER install a „smart lock“ on my door. There is no way of knowing who you‘re giving access to your house — who including yourself and/or besides yourself. And whether your guess is still valid after a firmware update.
ОтветитьInteresting. Thanks for the review. I am considering a smart lock, but I am very risk averse regarding access to my house.
ОтветитьThe thing I really like about this lock (through your video) is that it works with your existing door lock deadbolt. That makes installation much simpler and also less intrusive. I wonder if it would work on a lock that I have on a nearly 100 year old home where the deadbolt is a small thumb switch on the inside, about 1/3 the size of most deadbolt latches I see today.
ОтветитьHow do these go with home insurance. One of the security benefits of dead locks is you need a key to open the door from inside the house. i.e. break in through a window and take the goods out the door. This lock makes it simple for thieves so maybe not covered by home insurance? Has anyone enquired?
ОтветитьI was using the original switchbot lock flawlessly for about 10 months. After that, it kept on loosing calibration and jamming every few days. As it was still under warranty, I contacted switchbot support and they are now sending me a lock ultra as a replacement 😊 Very excited to try this out and I hope I do not have the same problems in a few months. Maybe I will have to buy the vision keypad as this looks really cool.
ОтветитьIs Facial Recognition a gimmick? What do you think?
