XXCHEEROS! That's a new one! GYRO means rotation like a gyroscope or a gyrocopter, so it takes its name (by the Greeks) because it is cooked by rotation, vertical rotation. It gyrates! You will never be able to pronounce this word in Greek so just say it like most of the Anglophones say it, GY-ROH. Secondly, it is not a Greek invention but TURKISH and its name is DONER KEBAB, SHAWARMA in Arabic and AL PASTOR in Spanish. As for the Greeks, they can never agree with each other and since ancient times they have wars with each other (See city states) It is a crazy nation in which every individual is right, and all the rest are wrong! So, what is the correct recipe for gyros?? Look at the comments and tell me!
ОтветитьI would eat your gyro for breakfast, lunch and dinner and as a night snack . It's awesome!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьWirklich cool
ОтветитьDid a tornado take out the roof? Great video btw lots of passion behind that beautiful creation
ОтветитьI hope I can find that mixed spice, I have to make this as soon as possible!!
ОтветитьCould i get a link for the spices without going in discord ?? Thx alot
ОтветитьAmazing!!!
ОтветитьThank you for a very interesting flavorful video. I have a number of Greek restaurants in my area however none of them have ever made my food look as mouth-watering as your food did today. I do not have a big skewer or pit to grill my chicken or pork but I gather maybe home Depot or one of these kitchen depots I might be able to purchase one. I'd like to feed approximately 45 people with the meat and so I guess I'm going to have to get my hands on one
ОтветитьHeading off for a month to Kefalonia tomorrow with friends coming to join us during our stay. This will be on the menu for definite.
ОтветитьHow much time did you cook it?
ОтветитьMate if you're not cooking on charcoal you're wasting your time.
ОтветитьLooks awesome. Doing this for the 4th of July Holiday here in the U.S. About how long did you roast with indirect heat before using the infrared burner? Thanks!
ОтветитьHvala prvi put vidim kako se to radi
ОтветитьGreek gyros is amazing!
ОтветитьLooks Delicious
ОтветитьIs there a link to the recipe somewhere? Thanks!
ОтветитьThat looks awesome. Thanks for the inspiration and for leaving the skin on the cucumber!
Ответитьyou forgot on the tzatziki to add KSYDI
ОтветитьLooks amazing!!! Great video. Can you layer some Lamb in between to make it taste more like a Gyro, or does the spices take over to do that? I am so doing this weekend.
ОтветитьThat's not Guros,it's called kontosoubli.
Ответитьthis is turkish cağ kebap
ОтветитьU forgot the garlic and vinegar in the tzarziki. Everywhere I eat tzatziki, they forget the garlic and vinegar which is a key component.
ОтветитьGyros: That G is the greek Gamma. It is pronounced like a soft g, g as in geek. Even if you pronounce it exactly like a g though, it will be better than pronouncing it like a ch, or a heavy h, the way you sound. The reason being that (h)yros sounds in Greek means a male pig.
ОтветитьNo point in going to a Greek restaurant anymore? Problem is I don't have one anywhere near me! That's why I'm on this channel.
ОтветитьJa komentiram samo istinitost viđenog kao gledateljica vaših videa
ОтветитьPork Gyros? No thanks.
ОтветитьYour pronunciation of “Gyros” is pathetic !!!
😂😂🤣🤣
There is no “h” - Think if it as “Yeros” !!
Welp, i have been saying it wrong for 40 years
ОтветитьAwesome video and explanation Pitmaster. I am using your method for our Greek Easter Rotisserie Gyros tomorrow!! 2 questions. 1) How long on the indirect heat? 2) My bbq is a Weber it doesn't have the IR burner. To crisp the outside, I was going to just go to up it to the higher flame. I will have to take the pan out from underneath so all the juices will drop into the burners. Should this still be ok as long as I clean it after? Thanks!
ОтветитьWhats the name of the powder again?
ОтветитьWill I be able to cook this without a back-burner?
ОтветитьMan i think you can make adovada for tacos on that
ОтветитьAren't Gyros originally supposed to be lamb??
ОтветитьAhhhh yes, great for "our hhheroes"....just say "yee-roes" , you're welcome και να απολαύσετε!
ОтветитьThanks! Now, for the chicken variant, please make it with kamado rotisserie with info tips of how to set it up! Thanks
ОтветитьLike day and night to what most take away restaurants sell here in London they call it Doner Kebab
ОтветитьDude learn how to pronounce gyros and if you can’t stop enunciating it like you are a mariachi singer. You sound like you are on the spectrum.
Ответитьyou really should be a little less theatric in your presentation style, you come over just plain creepy.
ОтветитьWhat's a Khheero?
ОтветитьAhhh when a Dutch is making gyros you know that it is worth it. In Bulgaria we love gyros but for some reason donner kebabs are more popular. Pork is a much much better choice of meat. By the way, your pronunciation of gyros is hilarious 🤣.
ОтветитьAussie Greeks also make lamb gyros - try it
ОтветитьCould I do this with Beef??
What cut would be best?
😊
ОтветитьWtf is a hyyeeero? 👋 NA MALAKA!! This shit ain’t Greek
ОтветитьHow long should this cook for and on what temperature?
Ответитьeen Nederlander in het Engels, lijkt wel een debiel
ОтветитьFor me, Lab Gyros are the best - Have you made it with Lamb?
Ответитьguros re vlaka oxi xiros
ОтветитьGyros are lamb and beef?
Ответить
