Rhino Conservation and their Protection in the iMfolozi Game Reserve | Matches on the Map Ep.06

The Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park is the oldest proclaimed wildlife reserve in South Africa. We were invited to meet with JP van Heerden at the game capturing unit and had the privilege to gain access and info to what happens behind the scenes, learnt some shocking facts and experienced amazing sightings.

Betsy's cousins - the strong and sturdy Mercedes Benz Kurzhauber / L-series / short nose / bullnose trucks once roamed this park and claimed their place in history as the parks toughest workhorses to date.

Although there were no opportunities to recruit stem cell donors, the short time spent in the park has grown our love for nature, conservation and the people that sacrifice it all to make a difference.
