Thanks for the planting depth tip for the water wisteria. I also saw that you didn't mind breaking the stems a little bit either when you plunged it into the substrate. Now I know! Gotta bury it down! If a stem or two break, no worries...

About the fish; I'm a Tetra guy......

Looking good! 😁 Fish wise my personal choice would be Hengels rasbora (trigonostigma hengeli) as they're beautiful, easy to keep and hardy. 😊

Dee needs to get some guidance from you now with picking out her fish. What is she drawn too. You both need to go to your lfs together. And Yes! You should do bi-weekly updates on her tank for awhile at least then maybe bi-monthly for a bit. This can make an awesome series for new fish beginners. You can teach Dee and others how to test the water parameters, how to trim, do w/c, etc. (Tank looks awesome💚♥️)

Yes absolutely want updates, maybe once a month for the first year then still regular updates every 3-6 months.

Corydorus, neon tetras, and shrimp. Those have always been my go to.

Dee has a timer for her lights. I have your double lights. What timer does she have?

As for fish try some Burmese Goldring Tetras, and Endlers. She could mix in some Wapoga Rainbowfish.

Love the scape! It’s gorgeous!! I would get a couple of beautiful nerite snails and a few Otocinclus (oto cats) for algae control. Maybe an albino longfinned pleco too. Then have Dee look at the easy care fish and get the ones she loves the look of! Maybe a couple of colorful shrimp too like cherry shrimp, or for algae control a couple of amano shrimp (but get the real deal amano’s - I got look alikes that aren’t doing much with algae).

I LOVE this vid. D wouldn’t this tank be awesome with some celestial Pearl Danio bet your girl would love a school of them just show her a pic she will love them. She will need a clean up crew and they don’t eat my shrimp so there u go she can add some color with them! My second vote is pea puffers(ps mine love dehydrated bloodworms)! Great video, really nice looking tank, can't wait to see it mature and what fish Dee will be stocking it with. Funny you mention the late great Takashi Amano, that guy is a legend. I'm actually in Tokyo right now on vacation and heading to an aquarium here today to see some of his last aquascapes.

i think with dees tank you should keep doing what your doing a short series start to full plant growth and fish in the tank then bam end it like thats how its done. great vid hope you come to vegas this week for the fish expo here on the strip

I want to grow wisteria. Everyone talks about howwwww easy it is. I've had 4 good sized plants of it over the last year and they've alllll died. meltmeltmelt. I don't know why. I'm not very good at java ferns either. Crypts LOVE my tank though so all's well in the end. If I can't grow wisteria though, I worry that means I can't grow any of the fluffy plants...like the water sprite that's died. Or the mosses that've died. Or the swords that've died...ok I know they're not fluffy, but still.
