Maymay, what a hreat, informative video! Super great! 🎉
ОтветитьThank you for this info!!! Helpful! Please explain the difference between cover stock and cardstock?
ОтветитьIf you had to use just one weight what would you select? I love all your folios. Such a talented crafter. You are a crafter that I feel comfortable with.
ОтветитьIs the Carta Bella Felt in the Black discontinued? I use that one all the time for things. Which would come the closest to the quality of the Carta Bella Felt? Paper Accents Coverstock 80 lb or Carta Bella Linen? Do they both score well without cracking? Thanks you.
ОтветитьWhat is PA cardstock?
ОтветитьSome papers crack when folded or tear when scored. Do any of the card stocks you mentioned crack or tear during construction of a folio?
Ответить❤I love your videos
ОтветитьI made two folios today with 65 lb card stock then used Mintay for mats on one and Echo Park paper pack on the other. They feel sturdy. They will be more so when photos are added along with decorations. ❤making these!
Ответитьwhat is PA?
ОтветитьI made the simple base of your original folio out of 65#, 80#, and 110# just to see the difference. What I noticed was with the lighter weight paper, the fold creases started to look worn and they just felt cheaper, especially as I started to build up the panels. I settled on 110# for the base with 65# for the matting and decorative paper. And you're right, everyone who picked one up couldn't believe that it was just paper!
ОтветитьLots of useful information. Thanks Maymay for sharing your talent with all of us.
ОтветитьI would love to make some of your folios. It’s hard to find stuff on your channel though by titles. Where can I find the one for that Christmas one as you show at beginning. It’s the second one you show
ОтветитьGreat information if you haven’t made a folio yet! After you make so many you figure out how to make them sturdy! I love the half folio! It’s my favorite!
ОтветитьI am making these for my cousin to use as a birthday card. She’s putting pictures of her and the recipient in it.
ОтветитьThank you for the great tips❤
ОтветитьI love making your folios thank you so much for helping me create them.
ОтветитьYou are always so much help to us fellow Crafters. Thanks for sharing your wisdom with us.
Ответитьthanks for the information, do you ever have issues with the pages separating at the fold lines? If the folio is opened a lot?
ОтветитьI love the heavier weight and stability of 110lb card but struggle with cracking at the score line…I’ve tried scoring both sides as well as lightly misting the score line before folding, any secrets to share on how to avoid the cracking?
ОтветитьI love making folios. Thank you for all your tutorials.
ОтветитьGreat video having all the information in one place. Love making the folio albums. I have made many of them. Keep them coming. Also would love more options for 5 x 7 items.
ОтветитьLots of great information. I love making folios. Thank you for sharing 😊🤗
ОтветитьI really love how you explalin things especially the types of card stock. I make all kinds of folios and baby books (which I am still trying to make right) but I keep trying. Are you going to get back in stock the stamps for place photos here and the different sizes? I have been looking everywhere for one.
ОтветитьHave you ever made a December Daily Folio? I am trying to figure out a way to document Christmas this year. I cannot wait to hear your reply.
ОтветитьHi Maymay: Very good ideas for making Folios. I have made a few of yours and I have used different cardstock. I like to use the 100 lb. cardstock the best. Thank you and your staff for all you do for us.
ОтветитьThanks for sharing. I think I'm going to make one. Question: Why do you wear your watch upside down?
ОтветитьMy question is how do you determine the thickness of the spine?
Ответить??Question. How does one discover the weight of different companies papers? In trying to research I found no set standards. They all seem to be “cardstock” with weights ranging from 65# (Echo Park) to 80# (Carta Bella) to 110+# (49th &Market)! The light, medium, and heavy designations have a huge range which is distinctly unhelpful. It seems that the only standard is chipboard which is >120#!
ОтветитьWhat about cracking on the heavier paper.
ОтветитьListen to Maymay, just go for it. I wanted to try a folio so I watched one of her folio videos and just used some basic cardstock to start. You quickly learn what works best for what folio. Since that first video I have made no less than 50 folios in all shapes and sizes. I have been able to accomplish this by watching her and then adding my own twists, turns and flaps. You could say that I am now obsessed with folio making. My friends and family love them because they are much more compact that a traditional scrapbook and you can document birthdays, new babies, vacations, life events and even weddings. They are much prettier than a big scrapbook and so much easier to store. Thank you Maymay for getting me started on folio making!
ОтветитьMay I ask what is the difference between a folio and a mini album?
ОтветитьThank you for the great explanations.
ОтветитьMaymay I love making you folios. Whether they are photo albums or notepad holders they are fun and satisfying to create. Best of all they have been consistent best sellers at craft fairs. Thanks for today's valuable information. Gonna save it in my "best tips and tricks" playlist.
ОтветитьI ❤ making folios!
All because of your easy to follow tutorials!
Maymay I'd like to request one other "how to" video. Could you please show us how to determine the measurements of different size notepad folios. If I want folios for 4x6 or larger 81/2x11 pads how do I decide paper size and score lines. Please help. Thanks
ОтветитьSure wish I had seen this back in February when I started making my granddaughter a folio for her senior year. I used 110 lb. Card stock. I also used 110 for the waterfalls and everything inside. It got really bulky. I started with a one inch spine and ended up having to split the spine to make a two and half inch spine. It would look better had I used less weighted card stock for inside, but she loved it and I had fun making it. Thank you for all he information. Sue Brannon
Ответить❤️❤️❤️
ОтветитьThanks so very much for a great informative video!! Love your creativity.
ОтветитьThank you for these tips! I have a question, similar to others... When you're deciding on measurements to create a folio, do you have to add a bit where the score lines are?
ОтветитьI learn so much from you MayMay. I’m obsessed with making folios now, thank you for this! 🥰
ОтветитьMay may this is incredibly informative. Thank you
ОтветитьI've always shied away from making folios, not sure why but after watching this video I am ready to give them a go. Thanks Maymay for the inspiration.
ОтветитьI started scoring on both sides to make the fold smooth on both sides. Then there is no right or wrong way to fold ;-)
ОтветитьThank You MayMay!!!!!!
ОтветитьThanks MayMay!! You are a awesome teacher. I love watching your videos!!😊
ОтветитьI 've just made my first folio and I was upset because it was not sturdy as Maymay's. And then, I found this video. Thank you for the encouragement. I needed it. I will keep crafting even if the result is not what I expected!
ОтветитьI’m scared to make one. This video is getting me closer to making one ❤
ОтветитьWhat is the extra folder that you put in with magnets in the small one you challenged us to make
ОтветитьPerfect video to watch before we start the year of folios with Maymay
