Not quite the same, but as a dog behaviourist I don’t go out looking to get bit. I respect the animal. Assess how it’s feeling and approach them in the right way. I have been bit, but it absolutely was my own fault, I would say it is for most animals to attack a human.
Ответитьvery true words dave, after 40yrs of riding what some would crazy horses even when riding ones that were thought to be laid back i was always prepared for any eventuality, i am the same with my spiders, i cover all possibilities, been laughed at for it but i would rather not have a situation that would be inconvenient for me and dangerous for my spider
Ответитьi really dont understand the desire to handle anyways, i would never do it, quite happy just to sit and watch and admire them going about their business
Ответитьi am collecting pinktoes... thought to be chill... but i have a 1cm hirsutum sling that threat poses me all the time lol... but i chose them because i love how they move and look, i dont even think about potency etc, just respect and being careful with them and all should be fine, awesome video, thanku mr and mrs dave xxx
Ответитьwe would end up wearing a OBT 🤣🤣🤣
ОтветитьMeanwhile in Thailand: What's a licence? 😂
ОтветитьDidn't the brown recluse have venom capable of causing necrosis?
ОтветитьCyriopagopus
ОтветитьThese spiders 🕷 are pretty dave and love your video's like always you and Camera 📷 lady keep up the good work.
ОтветитьI think a lot of people ask questions like this just out of curiosity, tbf. They don't know a lot about tarantulas, and are wondering what the venom range is--harmless to X; "what is X?"
For me, the reason I looked into it is purely a risk assessment for other housepets. Like, worst case scenario: are my cats in danger if something wholly unexpected happens (assuming I will of course take all precautions)? If the answer is "yes" it's not a spider I'd risk keeping. That being said, their venom's not always fully known, particularly not on pets, so it's hard to research as an individual.
There's at least one tarantula species (iirc Australian?) where dogs in particular will die within an hour or two of a bite, for example. Chances ARE you'd never need to worry. But if you have a break-in, a storm, an earthquake--something you can't plan for--ARE they at risk? I think it's perfectly reasonable to be *aware*, at least.
Great video!
ОтветитьIf one of the big spiders jump, then goes over the table. Is there web. Strong enough to hold there whole body, or will is just slow them down from hitting the floor?
ОтветитьHi Dave probably missing Peterborough show. Do you sell tarantula. Via post ..have trouble finding FB page. Or website
ОтветитьThat phone was perfectly timed!!! I laughed so hard at that!
ОтветитьDon't The Black Widow and The Six Eyed Sand Spider have fangs so small they can't bite through the skin of a human?
ОтветитьI have been watching a lot because your delivery (even calm voice, interesting facts) calms my mind even helps me sleep. (Please do not take offense.)
It occurred to me a short segment of :"you would remember:" followed by an up date on slings, wild spiders like the C. lividumi , and new rehousings. Just a quick look type, sort of like your wellness checks you do in am and pm. I am curious about the 2 small clutches and new spiders, etc.
Would like compliment Camera Lady for her photography and comments (giggles). I have learned a lot and come really love the spiders.
31.25 the way your obt side eyed you 😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьHi Dave. Did you say that the angry obt coul JUMP out of the box??
ОтветитьAustralian Funnel Web
ОтветитьWhat about Black Widows? :D
Ответитьhello sir dave, I have a question regarding p.ornatas, is it true that they can be gendered through carapace marking?
ОтветитьGood sir you provide more care and respect with your beasties than any other channel i have learned so much from you and i hope to one day be as good of a keeper/ambassador as you are
ОтветитьA daddy long leg is highly toxic and venomous it's just the fangs are too small
ОтветитьBut if you respect the spider species of their capabilities then you have more understanding of how to handle the spider in a safer way rather than getting bit my fluke or a mistake of not paying attention like he said
ОтветитьI rehoused 12 tarantulas today! not one single problem! thanks to your training Dave! I treat all my spiders with the utmost respect
ОтветитьLet us not forget some very nasty spider bites could be had if you lived in the right location in the world. A friend of mine for example in Texas told that a brown recluse had bitten a friend of theirs and caused a seirous injury to their arm she was posting advice for how to check for them in your home. She said they are very defensive
ОтветитьVery good video! I’m 73 and have 22 tarantulas! I started my collection in January of 2023 and love the hobby! I was very careful on what tarantulas I could handle and am very careful when I deal with each one! 22 is about my limit but love watching your videos because I have learned so much on how to care for each in my collection! 👍🏻
ОтветитьHi Dave I really enjoyed this video. The spiders were very pretty. Such good information on how to handle them safely. Excellent views camera lady. Cindy USA
Ответитьim becoming addicted to your channel.. Im still good with my daughters jumping spider, she wants a huntsman....
ОтветитьHi, Dave. If someone only wanted a couple of tarantulas, but they are all old world, should you still start with a couple beginner tarantulas before getting an old world. Or would it be ok to start with the tarantulas you want even if they are old world, and you are new to the hobby ? Thanks Great video 👍
ОтветитьDid the OBT in this video eat the male after the breeding?
ОтветитьTheraphosa blondi my female lived for 15 years
ОтветитьI thought you said you got bitten by a small Chinese spider
ОтветитьCUANTO DISFRUTO CON ESTOS VIDEOS. ERES AUTENTICO
ОтветитьGreat video Dave, getting my first OBT sling next week. Any good tips?
ОтветитьAwesome video y'all ❤ Thank you so much Dave and Mrs camera lady !!!
Ответитьthe deeper I get into this hobby the more I'm realizing it's full of science nerds and knuckleheads 🤣🤣
ОтветитьI got my first 2 spiders in the post this week (first ones I had to rehouse, the first T came from reptile shop in nice enclosure I haven't had to muck around with yet) and although I wasn't afraid at all, I felt comfortable, my hand was shaking from excitement! LOL I decided to just take the paper tissue out of the dram and put the paper in the new enclosure, unroll it a little bit until I saw the spider, and let them walk out on their own time. As a result (I think), they haven't hid at all! They've been out and about on display, building webs, doing their thing. I am so excited they haven't hid yet LOL a GBB and Caribena versicolor.
Ответить“What’s the most venomous spider?” The one you get bitten by 🤷🏻♀️
ОтветитьThat OBT is beautiful and it is hilarious how it's so bad tempered but has a smiley face on its backside 😂❤
ОтветитьDave you definitely said the truth when you were saying that it doesn't matter what kind of tarantula you are dealing with because they are all capable of delivering a nasty bite. We must show the respect that these animals deserve.
ОтветитьI didn’t catch the name of the black spider with the red abdomen.
Also, that red slate pokey is amazing looking.
FYI brown recluse spider venom is highly necrotic.
Great video!
Ответить40 years with no bites is impressive hats of Dave day 2 for me of my first ever tarantulas also Bite free haha
ОтветитьNow a bite from the giant desert centipede will definitely hurt like hell.
ОтветитьHello can all spiders feel if someone is scared??????
ОтветитьGreetings Dave from Canada I really appreciate the video about understanding these tarantulas that are often misunderstood and in the Amazon eaten by the tribes of the rain forest I wish these spiders were available here but 10 years ago I could visit a pet store and they would available to be viewed if you asked the store workers not anymore
ОтветитьDave, I'm getting a passport and plane ticket and I'm coming to have dinner with you and beautiful Mrs Beastie and then I'm going to bite you 😂😅❤ love you both dearly
ОтветитьBur Dave, which one will 100% sure kill a grown man with one bite?
ОтветитьGreat video, I could not agree more about maintaining the same safety standards toward each spider to avoid an accident. Personally, I am much more worried about urticating hairs than bites by my tarantulas. Its just a nuisance to me that keeps me from working with some New World T's.
