I like the Doorly's XO better than the 12 Year
ОтветитьIf you had to pick one rum from this list to start with, what would it be?
ОтветитьI THOUGHT the El Dorado 12 changed! I wasn’t a fan until I tried it again this year and fell in love. Didn’t rate it before so thanks for telling me my palate isn’t completely savage 😂
Ответить🤯 i can never wrap my brain around how cheap you can buy amazing bottles for!
ОтветитьLots of delicious rums up there! Appleton 12 is my fav
Ответить😁🙌🏻🥃
ОтветитьI would choose Chairman's Reserve Legacy over the Chairman's Reserve Original. Still very approachable but far more interesting.
ОтветитьWell that was fabulous!! I especially love Privateer ! To the Run! Where do you get the hat?
ОтветитьPlantation Xamayca is pot still Jamaican rum. Lower price than comparable rums.
ОтветитьThank you for this! I'm a Bourbon drinker, but have always wanted to get into rums.
ОтветитьIt's great that people can enjoy drinking in moderation, i envy you but i had to quit 😂 drank myself into oblivion and eventually stopped took it up last year again but even the smallest amount gives me a sick feeling for days for example i had 4 beer's felt sick for 3 days and had anxiety and depression for 2 weeks but great video all the same
ОтветитьIf you don't start you won't have to stop
ОтветитьGoslings Black Seal from Bermuda 😊
ОтветитьDressed like a woke sack of dog shite
ОтветитьFlor de Cana is absolute garbage
ОтветитьWhen I first saw the title of this video, I though "Uh oh, here we go"... I was wrong. These are great recommendations for the reasons that you state. A good variety of representations of what rum is and can be. Well done.
ОтветитьGreat selection but imho miss Ron Abuelo 7 years old. Panama’s gift to to the drinking world. Not too dry, not too sweet, great mixer, yummy on a rock or two.
Ответитьno Myer's???!!
Ответитьhve ypu tried ron abuelo 12 yr from Panama, or their single barrel ones ,port cask, double cask, sweet but yummy.i retied to Panama, and love all rums, how about ron del barrilito from PR, GREAT VIDEO...PAULD..
ОтветитьMy neighbor gave me a bottle of Goslings Black Seal rum bottled in the 70's. Haven't tried it yet but will do so soon. Thinking of buying a new bottle to compare.
Ответитьhey, loving the vids doing my own rum journey, I've yet to try some of these, barbancourt and don Q are definitely two i think i might love. jealous of your collection and being able to access the US market but I imagine the UK has some you miss out on too. Manchester Rumfest again this year can't wait
Ответитьso you like drier rhums, intersting, the ron buelo 7 yer old is superb, nd not overly sweet, i drink it with splsh of ginger beer, delish......
ОтветитьLate to the party but here's my thoughts:
Flor de Cana: A great Nicaraguan rum that has a flavor closer to true Puerto Rican rum not the swill a certain batty company puts out these days . I use the silver and gold as well mixers especially if the recipe calls for Puerto Rican rum.
Don Q: Still made by Bacardi though of a better quality than their well rums. I've not tried the aged version yet.
Doorly's: Quintessential Barbados rum that I was introduced to whilst on holiday in Barbados. I'm glad its getting more shelf space stateside. Overall, an excellent sipping rum and not to expensive to use as a mixer for Tiki drinks calling for Barbados rum.
Chairman's Reserve: Never tried this one so no opinion
Rhum JM: Ah Martinique rhum agricole a very brandy like interpretation of rum. Very hard to get stateside, mostly shows up in waves then disappears for a couple years to come back again. I love anything from Martinique.
Barbancourt: Oh yes, drink this stuff and you'll be seeing Baron Samedi dancing in the moonlight. Too harsh of a finish for me to consider it a sipping rum.
ElDorado 12yr: Guiana produces some of the best rums in the Caribbean hands down, I have a collection of ElDorado rums for mixing and sipping.
Appleton estate 12yr: A good sipping run that has be muddied over the years. Not truly 100% Jamaican it has other rums mixed in. I keep this to use for making original Mai Tai cocktails 1oz appleton 12yr with 1/2oz wray and nephew gives a good approximation of the original wray and nephew 15 year they were using before it ran out and was never made again.
the last 2 I have never seen in my state. Finally, the rum you forgot:
Diplomatico: My only sipping rum I keep around just for sipping and not mixing.
Thoughts on Ron Zacapa rums?
ОтветитьCan mount gay eclipse be considered a value rum?
ОтветитьNo Bacardi😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьEl Dorado 12 taste like Bourbon
ОтветитьBest rum with a cigar: Don Q, Flor de Cana, Doorlys, Chairman's Reserve, or Rhum JM?
Ответитьsince when did flor de cana add an age statement to their rums? it used to just say "18" because they make it with solara system.
ОтветитьI love the Appleton ones, but I would also recommend Siesta Key Coconut rum for its sweetness and flavor.
ОтветитьWhere is the diplomatico?
ОтветитьI thought I had the biggest rum 🍹 collection 😂
ОтветитьHi Brian, i have been on my journey a little while now, thats a good selection. My fav and one i keep coming back to is the Doorleys 12, you just cant go wrong. I also like the Rhum jm its amazing the aged flavour and slight funkieness they got from a pure agrcole. Recently had Appletons 8, not a bad sipper but new favourite mixer is Kingston 62😅 what do others favour? Great vid
ОтветитьDiplomatico exclusiva ..always delicious
Ответитьwhat's the dosage on the El dorado 12?
ОтветитьLove the video. Nice list succinctly presented. I’m more of a whiskey guy and jumped into the deep end years ago with the Foursquare exceptional cask series. Need to try some of these but the last thing I need is another distilled spirits obsession!
ОтветитьGreat video! Check out Myers's Original Dark rum from Jamaica. 🥃❤
ОтветитьThe best selling in the world is Tanduay and you don’t know about it.
ОтветитьAwesome. Keep up the great work. Funny enough, the only one of those rums I don't have is the Don Q. By the way, I got two bottles of Rhum Bolongne. One of the black Cane and one of their baseline offerings. Since I tasted the first time, I've been microdosing it day after day. It was one of the most interesting rums I've ever tasted.
