RFK Stadium = Redskins home
Stay away from our History with that new name
Who cares? Does being in the same place magically result in Super Bowls? No.
ОтветитьWOW
ОтветитьReally don’t give a rats a$$ about the name Redskins or Commanders or Football Team. I want them to win. This babbling about the team name is dumb. I care about rooting for a professionally run NFL franchise perennially competing for the division title, playoffs and Super Bowl. I hope the team execs will continue to focus on that and not the effing name. That is how competent and competitive franchises are run.
BTW, I’ve been a fan of the Skins since my old man sat me down with him to watch them play the Patriots. I only remember that we lost by one point and I was a became a huge Charley Taylor fan. Later that year he let me go with him and his friends on a drive to Richmond, where they got a motel room and we watched a game being played at RFK. Can’t remember which one. As a kid I never understood the rules about home games being blacked out unless they were sold out. I remember the playoffs and being scared of GB Packer running back John Brockington, Roy Jefferson’s TD, and the NFC Championship win over Dallas. My old man said we wouldn’t go far with Kilmer at QB because he couldn’t throw a decent pass. He was a Sonny fan. I was a Billy kid. And of course, I remember crying my eyes out after we lost to the Dolphins in SB7. I was inconsolable and all of 10 years old. I am 62 now. Dad is gone now but Mom is still here and still remembers how sad I was…
This is an unexpected welcome step forward but there is another major problem ahead. By law DC can only carry a certain amount of debt and they are maxed out with money supporting the Capitol One Project. They can offer tax incentives but construction finance assistance is not available w/o a tax increase.
ОтветитьI think Musk heard all the hate traffic on his social network and decided to stand the fuq back
ОтветитьI heard the bill passing differently from Stoner. And to be honest, I don't agree with a lot of his takes on this team, so it's likely he's wrong again on how it got passed. My understanding was that the bill was deaded by mainly Republicans senators for the reasons Stoner had stated. They came back with their own, but no one has had a chance to read and study it like the original one so they dead the second bill and basically went back to the original one
ОтветитьAs someone who watched the 80s and 90s games at RFK, it really should go back to DC. After all it's the Washington (insert name here) team, not the Maryland or Virginia one. Now s for a name change....
ОтветитьFYI The Federal funds that was tied to DC bill was going to Maryland for the reconstruction of the Key bridge. That is what the money was for gentlemen. Thanks
ОтветитьI think the logo is coming back
