Nice that ur trying to put an emotional twist to Asian parenting. Thats not the version I witness all around me tho. All of them beat their kids. One time my neighbour beat her kid 30 mins continuously non stop. No exaggeration. My other neighbour kicked her kid outside of the apartment and she cried begging them to let her back in.
I myself was beaten with sticks, rulers, slippers, hangers, hands etc. Then when I finally did very well academically, I was bragged about by my parents coz, kids are basically extensions of their parents right? Thats pretty much ALL Asian parents around me.

my asian mother praises my 2 younger sisters for going to college and getting a degree but theyre so deep in debt and have a hard time finding jobs lol plus their boyfriends are fat as hell working mediocre jobs.

i went straight into the trades, have a sideline onlne business, no debt, make more than my sisters and their bfs combined, ive dated resident doctors and novice lawyers and models. still my mom doesnt give a shit because i have no degree😑

now im almost finished with online classes for a business degree ill never use just so i can be written in the family will in the future can u believe this shit😒the asian pressure is real. its like they care more about credentials/status vs actual success

btw im 31 and my youngest sister is 23 trying to get into psychology grad school

Practically when you are born you don’t have a dream cause it’s already chooses for you which is doctor engineer or lawyer-

I am romanian and I never heard I love you till I said it first to my mom. It took me 18 years first, then another 15. Last year I called her and told her that she is the best mom I could ever asked for and that I was blessed and I love her.

Idk saying "i love you" is so fucking hard to say. It feels awkward-

But to be honest Asian parents are best but the thing is that they are never satisfied with your result
