I wanted the Death Star so badly for Christmas 1978 from Santa….instead I got a baseball and baseball bat. Held onto that dream for 38 years until I finally got one, complete but no box, in 2016. I completely agree that it is number one on the list

Enjoyed this video so much, that I watched it twice. Vintage Star Wars Kenner playsets are just the pinnacle of awesome in my opinion. And we got so many from this line over the years, we were so lucky. Looking back on all the ones that were out there, it's been a joy to recollect these myself too.

Hard to disagree with your top five Joey. With the exception of the Droid factory (because I didn't own it then), all of those were ones that I spent a lot of time playing with in my childhood.

I really enjoyed your playset collecting run, and as mentioned previously, really liked reviewing these all again.

Lots of cool stuff to look forward to in the future on your channel. Keep up the great work Joey!

Love the POP grading system btw. 👍

The Palitoy Death Star is so awesome looking, but the one thing that makes the Kenner one better is that it comes with a Dianoga trash monster👌 nice video, keep collecting bro 😎🤙

As a kid I was interested in Star Wars figures and vehicles, but as for the playset the ones that stood out to me are the Turret and Probot playset, Darth Vaders Star Destroyer and Dagobah action playset.

Growing up in Leeds England we didn't really have alot of big toy shops and I don't really remember seeing alot of these playsets but as a kid I remember just being so focused on getting as many action figures I could get my hands on! I only had 2 playsets as a kid which were the Ewok village and the Jabba the Hutt one's! I did have most of the vehicles, ships and mini rigs as a kid and spending hours playing with them! The Dagobah playset is high on my list to buy but I want to finish getting all the vintage figures first! Great video as always!!

I have all of these playsets and its hard to rank them. However, the Land of the Jawas is in my top three. Kenner Death Star , Palitoy Death Star, Land of the Jawas, and Sears Cloud City are my top 4.

My favorite will always be the original Death Star… I got it for Christmas when it came out, but unfortunately, we had a house fire a year later and I had to get rid of it because of the smoke damage. ☹️

Dude, I have reacquired a lot of my favourite sets from childhood, lots of fun, I didn’t bother with the boxes tho, just the set itself. It was so much fun tracking them down!

For some odd reason, that line (Star Wars) was the only toy line that my mom did not purchase in my kid days. She was always in the know of what was popular to kids those days. I missed to play with Star Wars toys as a kid (ones that were mine). Until high school that I was able to purchase my first Obi one toy. I'm glad that this video was made to see some of those play set up close and personal.

I wanted the Death Star too! I never got it. Instead, I turned my Fisher Price house on its side and played with it long ways! That was the Death Star! Lol Good times! I was five! 😂❤

I hate rich star wars collectors that get everything. You have no idea how much i suffer from PTSD for not having these as a kid. this is obnoxious, throw it in your face type of video. what a show off

I appreciate your effort and a applaud you for completing this. This is insane, but I’m glad I’m not a Completionist because I could never spend $1000 on toy that I don’t care about and I’m not saying you don’t care about it. It’s just that there’s no tie to it so it probably isn’t that special.

Good criteria and scale. I like it. The Probot and Turret playset is probably the one playset that I would break my budget rules to get complete. I really like this one. I might try to get the Land of the Jawas playset incomplete since I already have an escape pod from a friend a few years ago. I love the action and durability of it. I also love the price of it. The less I have to pay for something the better. I would put the Probot and Turret one at number two with the Palitoy Death Star as number one just because it is so very cool even though it's fragile and far too expensive. I'd put the Land of the Jawas playset at number three because I already have a part of it and I have three cloth cape jawas and several droids that I could put with it.

The Ewok Village playset is pretty neat, but I liked the Fisher Price Treehouse better as a kid. Loved that it had green leaves on the tree. My cousin had one and I used to bring my Ewoks over to play with them in that treehouse. It would be cool to have two or more of those treehouses and make some ramps and bridges to go between them to make your own village.

As a little kid, I would have loved the Droid Factory! I don't know if I would collect it now just to look at it, but it would have been number one for me as a little kid. I'm kind of surprised my family never got it for me considering how much they liked getting building toys for me back then. Good for hand-eye coordination you know.

I consider Jabba the Hutt, Tauntaun, Dewback, Wampa etc to be action figures too. They are poseable toys of characters in the movies so they are just as much action figures as the ones of Han Solo, Darth Vader etc. Great video!

Great video! It's nostalgia ranking gets 5 PoPs 😱 However, why get a playset with a lower ranking Pop a higher ranking in general?

I'd argue the Imperial Attack Base was inspired by the Hoth rebel base. It clearly resembles it and should've been sold as that instead.

A lot of your loose, complete item prices seem high. A loose clean, working, complete (aside from a few stickers) Imperial Attack Base just sold on ebay for $35 with only one bid. I almost bid on it in the last moments but didn't. (I know that's about as low as they get, but can be found, if patient.)

Xmas In 1980 I was 10 years old. I asked for one star wars toy, santa got me one . . . of every toy available. Happiest xmas ever! My favorite was the darth vader carry case because when I opened it, it was filled with action figures. I think my dad had a ball setting up the toys. I remember seeing the death star playset towering over all the toys.

Another great video. I enjoyed your overview of each. Liked that you had a defined (mostly) criteria to rank these. Some of mine scores might be a little different, but think the ranks would be nearly identical.

I'm going to say that you are flat out wrong on the Imperial Attack Base not being in the movie. Swap the imperial troops for rebel troops, you have a movie scene. If you're basing your definition of "in the movie" as depict on the box you might have an augment. There are lots of boxes that are not movie accurate, so it's a poor augment.

You've grossly overstated the durability of the Death Star. Those support columns could be snapped by a light breeze. Not to mention the other problems you seem have glossed over: the cardboard inserts, the easily lost parts, the easily broken parts and the trash. I really wish people would not be so blinded by nostalgia when it comes to this playset. Its a really good set, don't get me wrong. But it would rank lower if people would be honest in their assessments. Speaking of nostalgia, your nostalgia factor for the Palitoy DS should be 1. It's your nostalgia for the toy, not anybody's and everybody's. You should have had no way to know about it as a kid.
